Was confident until... I saw a bad picture of myself

Quote  |  Reply

I've gained some muscle mass and lost over 10 lbs since March but seeing some bad photos of me yesterday really crashed my self confidence.

Why does this happen? Is it because I thought I looked good until I saw how other people see me? I mean I take good photos and I take bad photos; I love the good ones...but the bad ones do much more damage to my self esteem than the good ones do in terms of boosting it.

It's always easier to believe and remember the bad stuff.

I wish I had advice for you, but I am living the same experience.

Maybe get someone to take some great photos of you?

So they caught you at a bad moment from a bad angle and cameras add 10 lbs. People may see this in real life on occasion but I doubt it's what they see on a regular basis. You will never really see yourself how others see you. You have to choose to not let this affect you.

Photos do have a bad habit of making someone not look great! I remember at my lowest weight I got pictured with a double chin! Verging on being a triple one! Sometimes it's best to try and see the funny side.

I know it's hard and it can really affect your confidence but I find mirrors a much better judge :)

Thanks everyone for your support! I really appreciate it. I'm just going to have to "forgive" myself and realize that every day I'm losing a tiny bit more!
