What's the deal with people being so condescending when it comes to people who don't really get healthy living yet? I see more of these people on here every day.
I'm judging you with my cold, dead, doll eyes...
as we speak.
*eyesn arrow* I see what you did there...

I once had a post about spelling mistakes in the forum and this group of people jump down my throat and proceeded to feed off each others comments about how wonderful they are and how many alike posts had been posted on the boards. But your thread about spelling mistakes (the forum pet peeves one?) had nothing to do with weight loss. Are you sure you are talking about the same people that a_c_m is?
Maybe justagirl1 just can't take criticism. She should call her husband to tell him how mean these forums are.....oh wait, that's right, she can't bother him when he's away. My bad.
I don't want to be cliquety (pronounced KLIK-eh-tee) or offensive but ^this is awesome.

If you don't want people in your personal business, don't post it on your profile
NOTE: OP, I am truly sorry for having part in derailing your thread. I haz a sorreh!
BORING.
^HA! I was just going to write how stupid this thread is! ;)
OP, some people are a-holes. Don't be one of them (not saying you are). After being on here a while, you're going to have to learn to ignore people you don't like. Don't let the internet ruin the real life you should be living.
What are you talking about? This thread is still hilarious.

Yes, and could whomever they are tell me why I haven't been invited to join it. I've been here like 6 months already, come ON.
Maybe I'm not snippy enough? I can do snippy. Honest. I can get you references from other forums.
JP, I've read a lot of your posts and never once seen you be snarky. Sorry to disappoint but I think you're just genuinely a nice guy.
And yes, if people start heatedly bickering back and forth about how mean and argumentative the people they're bickering with are it will probably take on an ironic life of it's own until we all spontaneously combust. People can have their own opinions, but there's no sense in being perpetually disrespectful and alienating others. It may be tempting to tell someone they're an idiot, but is that person likely to stop and go "You know what? I am an idiot. Thank you so much for informing me."? Not really.

I had a baby!!!
I didn't eat myself fat!
I PUSHED OUT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING AND THEN FED HIM FROM MY BODY FOR THE LAST YEAR!!!
Also, I read profiles. If someone has come down to 250 from 400...they say exactly that because they are proud of themselves for doing it, as they should be. Also, you are talking about the extremes (i.e. cancer). None of the people I referred to have had cancer or a life altering illness. They just can't stay disciplined/focused enough and I don't feel sorry for that, much less give them leniency when they are on here blah, blah, blahing about how nutritiously informed they are. What I'm talking about are the people who seem to gain and lose the same 30-50lbs.
Lose it already if you know how! Practise what you preach!
I'd say most of the people you don't like have pushed out a baby or two--nobody's going to coddle you because you're a mommy.
And how do you know they haven't had cancer or some life altering event? Most of us have, but maybe we haven't said anything because it's none of your business.
Someone was asking (or saying) why I was "still here." That is why I brought up my pregnancy. I came here in 2006, stayed for 4 months and lost the weight. I had permanently planned on leaving this website because I had done what I had come here to accomplish. Then 2 years later, my husband goes and knocks me up...lol.
So I'm not "still here." I've returned and in 5 months I will leave again and this time permanently because I'm not planning on getting knocked up again. I'm not asking for anyone to coddle me. What is more, I don't need, nor have I asked for, advice from this group of people. I once had a post about spelling mistakes in the forum and this group of people jump down my throat and proceeded to feed off each others comments about how wonderful they are and how many alike posts had been posted on the boards. I was just trying to pass the slow hours at work by making conversation on the boards. So like I said I don't need their advice, I know how to accomplish things and get it done. Unlike them, I don't open my mouth without backing it up with my merits!
[FYI, I've read plenty of posts on this clique and their profiles and NONE of them have been ill. They just continue to worship food and have no self-discipline. Probably after I lose the weight and leave this website again they will still be in the high 100's, low 200's still spewing out sound advice that they can't follow.]
And like I said, success is subjective and a personal thing. What they consider success, I consider unattractive.
Are you talking about the people who responded to your pet peeves thread? Why? That one was entertaining. They were having fun, it was just too bad you didn't join in (with humour, not anger), they would have welcomed you. They're nice people.
Were you mad because they were having fun on your thread?
Justagirl:
You might want to consider that not everyone puts their whole story in their profile.
You might also want to consider that some of us feel that a lifelong commitment to this process is neccessary because of the nature of our weight gain/weight loss journey.
I would be failing, in my personal journey, if I left after reaching my goal. And I would also be failing in my personal journey if I tried to lose this weight quickly. Been there, done that - multiple times.
For me, it was important to do this slowly and permanently.
Your journey is different - but neither is more or less valid than the other.
I rarely post weight loss advice, and rarely post in this forum precisely because everyone's journey is so different.

at first i got where you were coming from, and agreed that some people rude and condescending.. but judging from your last posts you certainly are no better, infact worse. the fact that you think people who have various health issues should post it on their profile is ludacris of you, do you wear all your emotional, physical and health problems written on your t-shirt? than why would anyone put it on their profile. Your absurd, judgmental, rude, hypocritical, insensitive, and by the looks of it ignorant(for lack of better words. YOU should also practise what you preach.
ludacris is a rapper. ludicrous is an adjective.
and, yes, i am an expert.
(edit: hopes nobody caught my inexpert error.)
The OP is looooong gone......

If your referring to my post than thank you for nitpicking on something so insignificant. You have totally caught the point of that post you should applaud yourself. Would it help you sleep better at night if I edited it for you?

Oh come on. She's having fun because it's funny. PG commented on your comment, not on you personally.
Some of you people need to get a sense of humour. And I'm not targeting just you mari, this is more of a group attack. I know you are all hungry, and frustrated, and busy, and whatnot. So are all of us older folks, but we know that we can have a good time despite all that stuff, and we realize that friendship is important. You kids should try it.
ETA: And if you got over yourselves and joined in the fun conversations, you would be more than welcome.

LOL
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
