Extreme pear shape....how to lose lower body weight?

I'm 20 years old and ive had this problem since I was 13ish. I have a huuuuuuuge butt....and small waist. It sucks finding jeans, I never wear bikinis and men stare me down everywhere I go. I hate it so much :(

I need to lose weight ASAP what are some good exercises for lower body fat?

You do have a big butt....but not the biggest, oh no. I have a picture of this girl I know.....I won't say her name. She has a bigger butt then you. Here is her pic. Girl in the pink....most unusually large butt ever. Went to high school with her.

Insanity really helped me with getting inches off of my hips and thighs.  It's...insane...but it might be worth a shot.

Work your whole body, as you lose weight you'll end up with a bubble butt most likely.

you know i have a big butt as well. when i went to public school everyone called the "pear" i hated it so much!!! as i still do now even though i am homeschooled which kinda sucks because i have no friends.. them bloody people dont know how it is to have one! this is what i do

jumping squats (like jumping jacks but you squat when going down)

knee downs

and i try to run/walk :)

Unfortunately, you cannot target fat loss. You can tone specific muscles but as you lose weight, it will come off all over. However, since you probably don't have much to lose in your waist, if you do lose weight, it'll probably slim down in your other areas. I wish you luck!

I was similar as a teenager.  I was big in the butt and thighs, but had no excess weight at all on my upper body, and had a tiny waist.

I went on a sensible diet, and the weight came off the butt and thighs.  I suppose I must have also lost some weight from my upper body, but it wasn't noticeable.

I hope that this will encourage you.  Perhaps when people are really young their weight loss will more easily come from the areas where they have excess weight.  I don't know of any scientific explanation, but it worked that way for me in my late teens.

I used to despair over my booty and hips. I realised slow weight loss and exercise does the trick. I think if I under eat too much (5'2 higher weight 115) while I'm dieting my body tends to hold onto the fat more in my thighs and hips.

Running/jogging is excellent. Also I noticed a fair amount of walking really helped shave off the extra inch or two; my friend who is a pear too noticed walking helped her also!

If you don't mind, how much do you weigh and what is your height? Have you been previously active?

ET: just kidding. I read somewhere else you are 5'10 and 200 pounds. I'm sure with some exercise and a healthy diet (exercise days 2,000 and non exercise days 1,800) you could get the weight off in time for June or July!

I also wanted to add do not eat 1,200 calories thinking the weight will come off sooner. As someone who weighs less and is shorter, I found eating 1,200 calories per day stalled my weight loss severely. Truly, eat and exercise with moderation for optimal fat loss.

Now that the weather is starting to get nicer, go on bike rides. Walk. Find a hiking trail, and hike. Jog/Run. Plant a garden. Burpies, lunges, and planks will be your best friends. I don't have any input on losing the junk in your trunk (though I'm looking forward to reading what other posters suggest so I can apply it to myself), but I just wanted to say that I think your butt looks awesome in those jeans!

hi there, i used to be very pear shaped but losing weight has transformed me into hourglass. while a lot of it has to do with genetics, i know it sounds obvious but really focus on walking everywhere. be on your feet as much as possible during the day. while you can't really spot reduce, try to do as much lower body cardio work as possible too. i agree with the other posters - you have a lovely shape! be proud!!

A pear shape is a healthier shape than lots of belly fat.  So, from that perspective it's good.  But, I understand what you are saying, especially being so young.

 

If you exercise, running is one of the best for the lower body, as well as walking, but walking will take longer but give the same results.

 

Spinning on a bike works wonders too.   When there is a target area, diet is good but exercise if the absolute best.   Find the exercise you like that targets the area you want to lose and keep at it.

So then if she is 5'10" how many calories a day should she be eating to successfully lose weight?

What the heck? Sir, I really think I know who you are. Okay? I've seen the pic of that girl a few times before. Aren't you this one bafoon whose been going around on yahoo answers under several different usernames with these pictures of this one girl. Either saying it's someone they know or claiming to be the girl herself and asking if her butt is too huge.

we are pear shaped ladies...our asses are our assets =] lol, but not always..we gain weight like crazy in our butts, thighs and lower stomach...and seriously, what girl wants that? I agree, finding jeans is such a pain...i am also petite so its a double pain...work on strength training....lots of walking, and personally, i took up roller skating, its a great workout for the legs!!!!
