Females- Do any of you actually eat 2,000 calories a day?
youre only 15 im sure you can eat more than 2000... i dont count calories anymore, but i know i eat well over 2000 everyday. i'm 21 (well in like 3 weeks lol), workout 3/4 days a week, 5'6 and around 116-118 lbs.
5'5", 130, 29 years old here. I eat 1800 once or twice a week but 2000-2500 the other days. I run, cycle, swim, lift, do yoga and ride my show horses. You're a teen cross country runner. 2000 may not even be enough but it certainly is better than 1200 which is starvation for your age and activity level. You may gain some food/water weight at first. Ignore it. 2000 is way more appropriate for you than 1200 and you seem to know that.
You have to fuel properly or your performance will suffer and you may set yourself up for injuries.
Yes I eat a lot and have been maintaining 105-109 for awhile now. I average 2000-2400 per day and am a little but under 5'2. 1200 is horrible for me. I can't even tolerate it for one day. Just eat life is way too short. I spend years trying to eat 1200-1500 and all it did was slow my metabolism down and make me gain weight. It took awhile, but I ended up losing weight once I finally increased my calories again. I actually am pretty sure I need to eat more b/c I binge once every week or 2 but I'm just too afraid. So I say increase to 2000 immediately. You might gain a few pounds of water weight but you'll lose it quickly!
You're an active teenager, still growing.
A teenage girl of your age should be eating *at least* 2000 calories. In fact, you can eat more, because you are active.
You will not be seeing 105lbs again, because you are growing. This is a good thing. Please do not stunt your growth by restricting your calories.
YES! I am 34 yo, just about 5'2", weigh 114 lbs and I eat plenty more than 2,000 calories a day. I probably hover closer to 2,500 calories daily and am able to maintain. I was really stressed and paranoid when I gained from 110 to 119 lbs last summer. However, after cleaning up my diet/nutrition and adding consistent weight lifting to my workouts, I have dropped a lot of body fat. I look a heck of a lot tighter and leaner but the number on the scale has virtually stayed the same.
So, my advice is to feed your body properly and sufficiently in order to make sure your metabolism stays alive and kicking. You are young and at your prime so eat soundly and without fear. Wishing you all the best.
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
