Not a firm beliver in 1200 calories.
Well I have seen other posts about this so I wanted to share my experience. When I was a healthy trim girl I ate pretty much like I am eating now but, counted fat grams (still do). I consumed 10 grams of fat a day, had breaksast lunch dinner and as many snacks as I felt hungry for. My weight was a SOILID 110 lbs (I'm just shy of 5 ft) My weight NEVER fluctuates like other women and it never went up or down. Now that I am getting back on track and using this site I have gone back to my old fit eating habits. Most days I log my food and drinks and find I am consuming between 800-900 calories a day (never under 820). I am never hungry, tired or have "fog brain". I just don't think I need 1200 calories. If I did I think that the years where my weight was a solid 110 lbs on this same diet I would have over time been loosing weight. I personally believe that there are "averages" for the "average person". I think there are a smaller percentage of people who may need a bit less than the 1200 and a small percentage who need a bit more. Anyone else agree or disagree?

I am 5'1, currently 110 lbs, wanting to tone up and get down to about 106 again.
1,200 works for me; I lose about 1.5 lbs a week, but because I want to tone up, I also incorporate pilates and use a stepper for 10-15 mins a day.
Even though I've only been doing it for a couple of weeks, I notice my clothes fitting better, regardless of the number on the scale.
And I love every single one of my 1,200 calories. I wouldn't eat less if it meant losing faster. Because in my experience, I'd be pretty dern hungry lol.
And no I don't think there are any doctors around here or they may have refuted some of our comments, but I don't believe that anyone my height could live on 800 - 900 calories for "years" and maintain a 110 lb weight. When I went down to 800 cals for just one summer, I went down to 97 lbs and frankly, I looked like a bobble-head lol.
