What is my frame size?

Quote  |  Reply

I'm sure it's robably difficult to tell from my profile pic, but I am curious as to what my frame size is?

Is there a way to tell?  I have pretty small wrists - I heard that was one way?

It's very easy - there is so-called finger-wrist test. Embrace your wrist with the thumb and the forefinger. If the length of your fingers is not enough to circle the wrist - your fame is large. If the tips of the fingers meet - the frame is medium. And, when they overlap - your fame is small.

if you are overweight you have more fat on your writs and its harder to tell but you can also tell by things like rib cage, hip size, etc

I would estimate small frame from your picture, but check with what anniew said.

Not really. Unless you are extremely overweight and swallen, the finger-wrist test always works: people don't accumulate fat around their wrists.

This whole time I've been doing that test wrong!  I was doing my middle finger and my thumb.   I have always loved my wrists because I never gained weight there.  But that means that even though my wrists are pretty small (5.75"), I have a large frame.

CC said this..which made me small framed, but I've never had anyone think I was "small framed" haha.

  • Small - wrist size less than 6.25"
  • Medium - wrist size 6.25" to 6.5"
  • Large - wrist size over 6.5"
idk i actually have gained to my wrists. but that might just be me.(swelling). hm. i also thought it was middle finger
not that im unhappy with that

< I really always thought this was the way you were supposed to tell as well, if this finger measurement is the correct way, I've been aiming for the wrong weight range this whole time. I'm Confused!

I meant that I thought it was the inches test, mine always came out to me being small framed but if I go by thumb and forefinger, I am medium framed

I thought it was the middle finger too!  I am 5'8 and if I use my forefinger it doesn't touch (large) but by the measurements I am 6.3 in.  So that is a medium?  Here is a website that calculates your frame by wrist and elbow.

I haven't found this calculator on this website?

I think it's your middle finger because according to the measurements I am small frame, and with my middle finger I am small frame. When I use my forefinger I'm large frame!:/

This seems helpful. I guess im considered small frame i just measured my wrists at 5 .6 inches. Surprisingly i always considered myself medium frame. Does that mean i look better at the low end of my ideal weight :/ lol

You have to take it all with a grain of salt.  My fingers overlap but my wrist is just *barely* under 6.5 (until recently it was 6.5 even).  I have long fingers but smaller wrists.  So medium it is for me I think.

Also, for larger people the wrist will certainly be larger even though it's one of the last places to get fat.  Some people in my family have medium frames but their fingers aren't even close to touching.  Both of those tests are really for normal-ish weight people (maybe within 25 pounds of normal anyway).

I don't think it always holds true.

I'm definitely small framed but my fingers are short so even though my wrist is 5.75 inches, my longest finger only slightly overlaps. Really wouldn't even call it overlapping.

If I used my forefinger they don't touch!

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
