GOAL: Healthier & happier by 21st June (Summer) Group!
Hi!!
I just noticed that the other groups are closed for new members.. and I'd really like to be in a support group, as I tend to lose interest once I get about halfway to my goal. So, who wants to join me?
If you want to join in:
1. Goal date of June 21st. How much you'd like to lose it up to you, as we're all different!
2. Weigh ins on Wednesday.
3. If you're just in it to get fitter, tell us how much stronger you are this week or about breakthroughs (example: This week I can do a real pushup! etc.) :)
4. Feel free to chat on here & support each other!
I would like a combo of both, as my clothes are too tight, and I'm rather ashamed of how weak I am in the arms! I would like to get much stronger, so that I can try out surfing this Summer, without drowning. :)

Eh, between Easter and just plain ol' pushing my luck with my food choices I kind of expected no loss. Eh, I think I have my cheating out of my system for now so hopefully progress will continue.

Stupid Easter ruined me haha. It's heading back down but I've definitely lost this week in terms of net weight loss. Hopefully next week I'll be in the 137's!!

So I am well into a week of daily 2-3 mile walks in the evening and it hasn't seemed to help. I didn't weigh-in last week as I wasn't home, but this morning shows my weight going up. Last night DH and I started the South Beach Diet. Hopefully with the two of us working together, we can make some progress in the next few weeks. I did not enjoy my breakfast this morning...got to cmoe up with something new. I'm going to try to remember to eat something every 3 hours so I'm really looking forward to my snack in another hour!

WHAT! 2 pount gain this week. OUCH. At least I can say I thoroughly enjoyed easter and all it's feasting! THis is usually where I fall off the wagon ( when I hit a bump in the road). But I'm going to take it as a lesson learnt and move along. I knew this was going to happen. I already warned the BF that I won't be cooking for him this week, as I plan on eating very low cal small portioned meals which would simply not appease him. Well, looks like it's time to hit the gym hard. Hope everyone else had a better week!!

I was "lucky" because my family is living across the ocean so I didn't have to worry about delicious easter food! and for everyone else who wasn't as 'lucky' as me, there's nothing wrong with partaking every once in a while! on a plus side, maybe it will boost your metabolism and you'll see a good loss next week!

well, not much of a loss this week - and not what i was hoping for. but, i will admit that i know i was not within my calorie allowance over the holiday weekend - and i did not work out thur-mon. so, i will take my teeny weeny loss and aim for more next week :)

Uh oh...not looking very good. *shakes head*
So, after being thoroughly disheartened by my post-easter weight in, Ive been working extra hard the past couple of days. I've doubled my usual defecit (which was 300/day - now 6-800/day), and paid more attention to the analysis section of CC. The past 2 days, I have also incorporatedy a 9:15 mile into mile into my workout (which I am rediculously proud of since 2 months ago, I couldn't run a mile and about a month ago I had it at 11min). I hope to get my mile down to 8 minutes flat and then to work on distance. I can also feel my arms getting stronger. I don't do any wgt training with my legs because they're muscular as it is and I do a lot of high-level hill walking on the treadmill which seems to work my legs fairly well. I know eventually I'm going to have to start working on my abs/butt. I'm worried I'll regret not starting them sooner but I'm just too focused on getting the wgt off right now. How's everyone else's work-outs going?
Hi guys! The group's gone a little quiet, but just had to share some wonderful news :)
Today I managed to squeeze my (now only slightly) fat ass into a size 10 jeans! Woohoo! This makes me so happy! I love love LOVE clothes and shopping and it's so nice to go into the fancy, awesome stores and be able to buy their clothing instead of relying on stores that stock size 14-16s. So I'm quite happy about that! I also feel so great lately - everyone has been complementing me! I wanted to go down to 130 pounds at the least, but I think I shouldn't, I've decided to just go down to 140, which means only 15 more pounds!!
So, sorry that I'm just writing about superficial things and not fitness stuff, but an accomplishment is an accomplishment, right?
Hope everyone else is doing great too!

That's GREAT! I miss shopping myself...I just can't stand the way I look in anything these days so I refused to shop again until I lose at least 10 pounds. I'm normally a size 8 but the last few things I've tried in 8 were tight...but I bought them anyway, deciding I would just force myself to lose weight to get into them and you know what? I think I've had a few size 8 shorts I have yet to wear. So I'm hoping when I leave for my Florida vacation SIX WEEKS from today I'll be able to wear them. I think I can get there. I finally got myself below the 150 pound mark today. My long term goal is 130s but I'll take 140 or so in six weeks. I finally feel like it's possible.

svb - wow you've been making great progress!!! I've become addicted to shopping as of lately... but i STILL avoid jeans. You must be so happy!
dmcaddeo1 - good luck getting to 140 before you vaca!!! I'm jelous you can wear shorts... I stick to dresses in the summer because I hate my legs. I don't know if I'm more jelous of the fact that you can weak shorts or the fact that you get to go to florida in 6 weeks!
So I think next week I'm going to start a new workout routine and see how it goes. Each week I'm going to try my best to fit in:
- 90 minutes (usually 3 seperate 30 min sessions) of highest level hills at 4.2mph on the treadmill
- 6 miles of running (currently at 6.5 mph. usually 2miles/excercise day)
- 2 days of doing arms (I use the machines at the gym)
- 2 days of "8 minute buns" - found on you-tube
- 2 days of abs (will have to find a you-tube video or something)
...that's 12 seperate workouts... If I work-outd 4 times a week I can pick and choose 3 mini-routines to do each time. I think this will keep me more motivated and prevent boredome. Hopefully.

seems like it's been FOREVER since i posted my weight here, but looking back at my posts i see it was just last week. how odd. at least i'm still heading in the right direction. i think i'm with laurathistle and maybe all the easter sodium is gone. of course it's just in time for me to eat out tonight and tex-mex none the less. oh well, i'll do my best. (and enjoy a meal out!)

FINALLY for the first time I've actaully LOST weight beyond my starting weight! Things are finally moving in the right direction...I only wish I'd started the South Beach diet SOONER! I've just completed a week of SB Phase 1 and I've been doing about 3 weeks or so of daily 2-3 mile walks. I think I could speed things up more if I could increase the walk intensity...but most of the time we have 6 little legs trying to keep up with us so we don't want to punish them too badly! I've even managed to get myself out at lunchtime at work to walk once...and hope to do that some more.
I really need some cardio as well as some arm work. I think my legs are looking a little better...but my arms could use work. I may try to work that in somewhere soon too. I would really like to STAY under 150 and even get to 140 in the next six weeks...we'll see if that's possible.
laurathistle: I could never do dresses...my thighs would just rub together way too much! I have to have the shorts to keep something between them! Believe me, I am so looking forward to this FLA vacation...but hoping the heat doesn't kill us all. We usually do our Florida trips in off-season times...this is our first trip together in JUNE. I hope we don't all melt! Good luck on your new routine..sounds great! I should work on something like that myself.

whoops, only a 1 lb loss this week! to be fair, I haven't been very strict with myself, and I have lost 20 pounds since the challenge started (which is pretty good in my opinion!)
Laurathistle: congratulations on your healthy BMI! that is a great milestone and you have done great so far! and a good workout plan. It does help, I've become soooo bored at the gym. I still go every day but man I can't wait until the day that I DON'T have to go anymore. I just have to find a sport I like.
dmcaddeo: good job on reaching the 140s! Just think of Florida and bikinis as your motivation :) I'm a little worried because I have so many holidays coming up... next week I'm off to NYC, then when I come back a friend is visiting and we're going to the Rockies for a few days, then in June my mom is visiting and we are doing a 2-week road trip through alberta... I just hope I don't gain all my weight back!

Almost 1 lb gain! I've been eating very healthy all week and exercising everyday for at least 1 hr. On Saturday I was 143.1 but it shot up to 146 on Monday. I hoped it was due to an intense gymnastics class I had on Sunday but the weight is still sticking around.

Steph - we do indeed have very similar stats! I checked your profile and am blown away by the long-term progress you have made!! and on top of it, you're gorgeous! BTW, gymnastics? What an awesome work out that must be... felxability, strength, cardio. I need to find some classes in my area (don't think I could pull off gymnastics... more like aerobics or something). You've definately inspired me!!
