Has anyone else experienced constant headaches at the start of a diet? I started a couple of weeks ago really strictly counting my 1400, dumping the alcohol and ramping up the exercise and I've had a headache pretty much the last ten days. I haven't given up coffee (no chance Smile) and am drinking loads of water - so I wonder if it's just a coincidence? Getting pretty bored with it now..

I read somewhere that low blood sugar could give you a headache. Maybe pop a banana when you get one?

I get those headaches too, and a small snack often works for me. Also coffee, yes, lovely marvelous coffee . . .

I suffered from chronic headachiness as well but just for the first few days.  It could be just the body adjusting to your new regime but I can imagine that after a couple of weeks it could be quite demotivating.  Maybe you should add a vitamin and mineral supplement?

I had that happen to me when I cut out sugar/starch as part of a detoxifying diet. My body REALLY likes starches, apparently. But it went away within two weeks.

How much water do you consider loads of water? I notice that when I'm not drinking enough plain water (which is about 14 cups for me), I tend to get more headachy than usual.

I'm experiencing the same thing. I started eating healthier about a month ago and I've had terrible headaches ever since. The only beverage I drink is water, or once in a blue moon I have a vitamin water. I hate taking headache medicine but I've caved and popped a few over the last couple weeks.

Hi, If you cut out sugar and white flour, you may be experiencing withdrawl.  It will pass with time..just keep eating well, and drinking lots of water.  It's normal.

Do you have allergies? 'Tis the season for sinus headaches.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, it's starting to wear off now so I guess I'm doing something right. I think the blood sugar thing might have been a factor, and pollen/sinus trouble makes sense, the air is thick with it in Italy just now..
