HELP! Help! Have lost so little, don't know what I did wrong, please help!

I don't know what I did! I'm in the 150's and 5'7, and I've been exercising everyday (not very long but intensely) and keeping my calories to 1200-1400 calories and I still have only lost LESS THAN 1 INCH in 3.5 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been hoping and praying the whole time that I'd lose 2 inches,(0.5 in/week) but only 1 inch. That seems VERY small!!!!! Everyday I am hungry, bloated, and feel fat!!!! I don't know what I'm doing wrong! Last year at this time around my navel was 33 inches and I felt AWFUL- so fat- and now around my navel I'm 34 inches, only losing LESS THAN 1 inch in 3.5 weeks!!!!! My stomach looks so fat and heavy and bloated and I'm such a big size and I DON"T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!

Should I cut down my carb intake? I got input from some people and they said it aids in weight loss, and I could still have fruits and veggies....

I'm so confused! How could I only lose 1 inch? Today I felt SO hungry and if I eat any more I'll lose even less per month.How can I be eating good stuff (mostly) within my calories and still only lose such a little amount!!!!!

I'm joining track....running about 3-4 miles a day....will this help aid in faster weight loss?

I used to have an ED and was like 28-29 around the navel and I was even comfortable with 30. I feel like the only way I can lose weight is to heavily restrict like I did when I  was during my ED. WHAT"S WRONG WITH ME???? Why can EVERYONE else lose weight in a healthy way besides me! I'm stuck and desperate and I don't think I can go back to heavily restricting but I can't stay where I am and this heavy? HELP!!! What more can I do? Why so I have such a slow metabolism!!!!! What went wrong! I accounted for every calories (believe me  I did- I know how to count calories-remember, I used to have an ED) and exercised intensely, albeit shortly (15 min.) I'm lost and depressed :/ Is the only way I can lose weight is starving?

If I followed a 'healthy' eating plan that others advocate, I'd be bloated too. I don't do well with grains. I always bloat when I eat them- and the bloat stays around for a few days. I don't generally bloat if I get carbs from things like squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots (which aren't really high or low carb).

Also- keep in mind that sometimes excessive exercise can be stressful on the body- which can mean an increase in cortisol, which also affects belly fat. 

Perhaps try cutting back on the carbs, and especially the grains, and stress your body a little less. Sometimes less is more.

You are already a healthy weight for your size, so heavily restricting will not help you lose inches.  The less fat you have, the smaller calorie deficit you can support.  

If you eat too few calories, your body will be forced to catabolize its own muscle tissue to make up the difference, and you will lose weight, but you won't be any thinner.  I would focus on body recomposition.

Try heavy lifting and eating more.  If you build muscle and lose fat (not necessarily losing a lot of weight) you will lose inches and look much better.

 

The OP is 16 years old, BTW

given that 1500 is the LOWEST an overweight, sedentary teen should eat for weight loss -- and 1800 is recommended for those who exercise, you should probably be eating 1800 (at least) daily.

You might have a lot of stuff backed up in your system. I had the same problem. I started detoxing and cleaning the problems out. It worked! It was like releasing a plug. PM me if you need more advice.
