Hey girls, can we do exersises under the desk?
I mean using our legs. When we do some office work and have to sit down for over, like, 3 hours. Do you have some experience? Which way would be the best calaries-burning?
If you have insisted that for a long time, I would be appreciate it very much!
There are a lot of office workouts just google it. Myself, I've not had much luck in a sit at the desk workout making much of a difference.
I think the best workout at the office for me is going outside and walking on the sidewalk or repeatedly walking up and down the stairs. I get 2 fifteen minute breaks per day and an hour lunch. I use each break as an excuse to get up and move...or maybe I use the need to get up and move as an excuse to take a break but either way, that seems to fit my personality better because I have problems concentrating on my job when I am trying to workout at my desk.
I worked with a girl who sat on a large exercise ball instead of a chair at her desk a couple hours a day. She swore by it. Another option if you do not have time to exercise is to do squats and butt crunches in the shower every morning. I know its funny, but it works pretty good. Or you could get up 15 minutes early every day and do leg lifts. You can also do these right before bedtime.
Sorry, you are not going to get any really effective calorie burn from anything you can do while sitting at a desk and working.
Get up and walk around every 60 minutes (drink a lot of water and go to the furthest bathroom possible).
On your breaks, do some stretches, squats and some push-ups off your desk and then go for a fast walk. If you have a longer break for lunch then you could try going to the gym then (or take another walk/ run up and down stairs repeatedly).
I agree the best thing to do is get up and move as often as possible.
If there is a place to wash up at work, some establishments even have employee showers. I ride my bike to work 25 - 30 min. each way 3 days a week and walk for 20 min of my half hour break on days I don't ride. Usually have time to eat meals during the two breaks with my clients.
I aim for 6 days of at least 20 min of exercise. If I miss one or two,not so bad.
exercise ball! It seems extremely cool!
Get up early, maybe I'll get some incentives~Thx for your suggestion.
