Edit: To join just give your stats and weigh in on fridays. You could also say you diet and exercise plan on how you want to lose the 10lbs so maybe other people can get ideas. :]
200-300 calories a day?? WOW. That's a meal for me. Yes you will lose more if you eat more. If you don't eat enough, your body will store everything you eat as fat, and will start using up your muscle to keep your organs functioning. Ease into it a little bit at a time. Add 100-150 calories a week until you reach 1200. It's possible you might even need more than that.
As for your scale, I would use the one that gives me the higher weight, that way I would work a little harder to reach my goal. Ultimately, it's up to you. I don't know a thing about which scales are more accurate than the others. HTH.
and yes, exactly. i was eating one meal a day, everyday. and thats it.
ill eat more then. and i will *try* to count my calories. its just really hard because i dont eat meals that already have the amount of calories on them. like if my mom makes some sort of soup woth veggies and chicken and i have a bowl...i have NO IDEA how much calories are in it but i know its low in cals. so what would i do?
HTH = Hope that helped
Well I'm glad you are eating more, so that's a step in the right direction. I know it might sound like a pain in butt, but you may have to log all of the ingredients separately. For example, take chicken noodle soup. You would (and these are estimates) log 1/2 cup of chicken, 1/4 celery, 1/4 of a carrot, 1 cup noodles, broth, etc. all individually. You might also ask your mom to save all the packaging and nutrition info from all the packaged food she uses. All the fruit and veggies you can look up on here. It might be tedious, but it will really show you how to eat and manage your food in a better and healthier way. :)
and thanks. it did help :] im going to eat more and log my calories, maybe even my workouts.
Late post for weigh in, oops! Friday was 166.5, I was 172!
I attribute to the quick weight loss to the fact I had forgotten my blood pressure Rx over the 3 day weekend which means I had that much extra water weight.
What helps me: I weigh myself everyday, that always helps keep me in check. Sometimes I get the attitude that I deserve to eat what I want and then when I step on the scale the next day I realize I really did get what I deserved. Weight loss is more a mental battle with me, I've found that taking pictures of myself helps, too. Some days I'll think, dang I look good, then I take a picture and I'm like, okay maybe not so. In other words, after I lose a few pounds I think I don't need to lose anymore, so I stop when I really need to keep going. When I make it to the 10 lb goal, I'm going for another 10 by Christmas and then hopefully by my birthday (March) I'll be able to lose another 10 lbs.
anyways, it turns out that weight (all three of them) were wrong. i weighed myself on three different scales, three different times. and they ALL said different things. one said i gained a pound or 2, one said i lost a pound or 2. and one said i stayed the same. so there you have it. :/ weird...
I wanna join too is it too late??

I'm also doing a 30 day Detox if anyone is interested. I'm vegan, but have been sloppy lately in addition to eating way too much junk. So here are my guidelines:
-no animal products
-no sugar
-no chocolate
-no sugar replacements (aspartame, etc.)
-no refined grains (white flour, etc.)
-no caffeine
-no more than 1500 cals/day
-minimally 45min. exercise/day
Of course dieting is about permanent lifestyle changes, so my plan is after the detox to keep some of the changes permanent and loosen some of the other restrictions. If anyone else wants to try this too, let me know! (You can of course tweak the guidelines to whatever you want).
I am 225 and would love to drop ten pounds by Halloween. I even have a big birthday party to attend this month. :+>
I'll join you on your detox.
What sorta foods are you going to eat? Lately I've been eating home made roasted garlic hummus with lavash crackers, carrots, and an apple for lunch. Breakfast is a fruit smoothie and dinner......I have trouble with...
You're restricting chocolate/sugar for the detox - is it because of the caffeine and refined sugars? What about natural sugars - fruits, and/or maple syrup? Dates? I'm totally addicted to sugar, so I do need something - dried apricots or dates/almonds will do.
Aw man, I just remembered, I made chocolate vegan fudge and I still have the whole slab in my fridge. Um... well, I'll do the best I can... urgh, temptation everywhere!!
Just wondering how tall you are? And how old? Im 28 and 5'7.75" lol... every half inch counts!!!
anyyyyyyyyways....as of saturday, i was 122.1!!!! yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! very happy :)
MAN. I was home this weekend and my mom's scale is TOTALLY off! Usually it's okay for me but she's mentioned before that it weighs her as heavier; so according to that scale I gained 4 lbs in a week. A week that I was SUPER good with.
Lying scale. So now I have to wait until Weds. morning to weigh in!
and pantera, im still not sure how many calories i eat every day. :/
i have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast
and for lunch i have either apples or grapes and a wheat pita with turkey and lettuce and some ranch or mustard or something. then for dinner i have something healthy... and im going from cross country (at LEAST 3 miles every day) and then i go to karate.
so thats that...im not sure what that would be.
oh and i love love LOVE thsoe pitas. its a sandwhich without the calories and carbs! 40 calories of the pita, and 40 calories of the turkey. then lettuce which is nothing...and a dab of mustard or ranch :]
What you eat can have a direct effect on your skin if you're struggling with psoriasis. See what to shop for.
