How long on diet? Are you successful?

Quote  |  Reply

I have been trying to lose weight for about 4 months now, and have lost about 10 pounds. How about you? How long have you been dieting (this time), and how much weight have you lost within that time?

That is wonderful, jaxgirl0619!

I've been conscious of my diet since december, actively changing it since January.

I've lost 37 pounds.

I have lost 41.6 pounds since January 6. An average loss of 5 pounds lost per month.

i was weighing about 265-270 range back in september of '06 (5'10 and 1/2 haha) now i am down to about 183 pounds still have about 9 more pounds to lose to hit my goal(put on about 12-13 pounds of lean muscle yay)....almost there just have to tighten up the loose skin around my stomach bahhh but the weight loss has been pretty slow considering im really active and eat very healthy (still learning what natural foods to add to my meals :D) congrats on all your progress guys keep up the good work **

syco33, have you investigated the alkaline/acid way to eat, since you say you're still learning what foods to add to your meals? I've just been learning about it, and so am learning to add more vegetables & fruits, while trying to avoid some other foods. There are a few websites with lists of alkaline/acid foods. You're doing great, as well as the others! I am so pleased to learn of all your accomplishments.

hmm looks like ill be doing some research....oh another little thing i like to do is after a great cardio workout is hit up the steamroom/sauna/spa/pool for some more cardio ^^. I highly recommend swimming as a way to switching up routines.

Lost around 100+ lbs 2 years or so ago. Been keeping it off since.

Now, I'm an aspiring nutritionist and food scientist. The stuff is amazing to learn.

Amazing! how did you do it, artofphire? And yes, I'm sure learning about the mechanics of food intake is surely thrilling.

I started out at about 197 lbs in April of 2008.  I had my second child in September of 2007, and hadn't weighed myself AT ALL in a VERY long time. When I realized that I was nearly 200 lbs and no longer had any excuses (my baby was no longer nursing, couldn't continue blaming pregnancy, etc...) I realized I had to do something to change pronto.  So that's when I started my diet.  I've lost about 70 lbs; I'm fluctuating between 126-128 right now, and I want to get down to about 120 or so.  (I'm 5'5 with a small frame, but am somewhat muscular due to all the working out over the past year or so, so I'm not going to try to go much lower with the weight.)

It took me a long time it seems, but I've definitely made changes I can stick with and have given myself plenty of time to change gradually.  :)

I started out in February this year 2009 - I was 208 pounds!  I have lost 45 pounds so far and got another 13 to go to my target weight.  I have found it quite easy but had to be disciplined in making sure I filled in my calories every day on this site.  I have done many diets in the past including Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Scottish Slimmers - all which were brilliant at the time and I did lose loads of weight with them but this is the first time I have done it on my own and because I don't have to rely on going to a club every week, I feel now that I can maintain this weight.  I feel fantastic and now walk 1 hour every day which has also helped my arthritis.  I have been told that I was at risk of Osteoporosis but am now in the normal range - so it's all good and I don't even mind that nothing in my wardrobe fits me now - it's all too big!!!  Stick with it and you will succeed - if I can do it anyone can - I was the worlds worst yo yo dieter.  I just have to find out what to do with the loose skin now and I will be happy.

Chi-chi-chi-chia! It’s back—again. Not in the form of green "fur" on bald clay animals—thank goodness. Instead these tiny seeds that once fueled ancient Aztec and Mayan empires are now a key element of the latest diet craze, the Aztec Diet.
