Looking for buddies... 28yo F... 5'1...need to lose 20 lbs
I've been chubby all my life and the highest weight I ever got to was 170 lbs! Lowest was 136 after being at my highest, but I only stayed at that weight a week before gaining it all back.
I've currently lost 12 lbs since March 13 and am working toward my goal of 120 lbs. I have an "athletic" frame. Big, muscular legs and wide hips!
I've been working with a trainer since March and I have just recently gotten my activity level to 4-5 times a week. I'm actually hoping to do a half marathon in Vancouver next summer.
My problem is food. I usually eat just fine--1200-1300 calories a day, but some days I just go crazy. Hopefully it doesn't make this journey overly long.

Great--the group is super helpful and logging really, really helps! What has been holding you up? Eating or lack of exercise?
Hi there!
I know how you feel and i'm definitely looking for buddies. I used to weigh 142ish a few years ago and sort of maintained around 118-124 for the past couple of years. I'm currently 124 and looking to lose about 15lbs and need some motivation.
I just joined today for that very reason, as I love exercising it's just the consistency that I lack especially with school! lol.
Oh i'm 5'2 by the way
ps. do you think raising your calorie intake to 1400 would help level things off for you? I'm currently eating 1200 or so however I don't exercise and have an office job
Hi countmein88!
I actually don't enjoy exercise at all. If you had told me four months ago I'd be exercising five times a week I'd say you were full of it. But here I am, exercising five times a week (three times are runs, twice is strength training). I have to thank my personal trainer for that. She's been wonderful in her support and encouragement.
So you want to be 100 lbs? You must have small body structure. I'm much too "athletic build" to ever be that small. Unfortunately I'm really short too-- 5'1.
I think things are going well for now at the calorie intake I'm at, as my metabolism has always been very slow. And now that I'm nearing my 30s it's going to slow down even more! I just make sure I never have a deficit more than 1000 calories--there's rarely a day when I ever have a deficit that big.
