Looking for Weightloss buddies!
Hi...I've been doing CC for a couple of weeks and seeking some weight loss buddies to motivate me. I'm 38, 5'6", 215. I've lost about 90 pounds so far and am hoping to lose at least 50 more. I'm having trouble staying motivated! Anyone else having this problem? Hope to hear from you soon!
I went to that showing of FORKS OVER KNIVES tonight. it was great!!!! and I also won one of the door prizes. The McDougall Quick & Easy Cookbook. Then they did a cooking demo and a feast of vegan food. boy was I glad yesterday was weigh in and not tomorrow!!! lol

Marion - sounds like you had a great time! I looked at the trailer and it certainly looks interesting. I don't really agree that a vegan diet is 'the solution' as it seems from the trailer that they are saying but I'm not going to get into that or I'll go on a big rant ;D
My day yesterday could have ended up worse. Did an hour of cleaning, got my hair cut and walked a bit. Some friends showed up and we watched the Christmas parade and went out for all you can eat sushi. Although I was still very full I didn't eat as much as I normally would so I was happy with that. I also had two coolers and two hot dogs (no buns) at home, however because of how little ate earlier in the day it worked out.
Also at the parade I noticed my feet muscles kept seizing up, and this morning I had under 950mg of potassium yesterday... so maybe I should just go ahead and try small small amounts of that NoSalt stuff you were mentioning Marion.
Ooh, and I bought a new workout video: 'Yoga Booty Ballet'. Sounds ridiculous and has a 14 minute beginners video so I thought it may be a good start. Then once I master this I can move back to my other more intense workout videos.

Marion- hope your daughter is coping. I'm too much of a carnivore to go total veg, but I love veggies too!

Dale- Hope you're staying on the well side of things. I had a bit of a sore throat yesterday, good thing it was my rest day, I only have 2 wo's to make up for. I'll do an extra today and another tomorrow.

Been reading your posts and felt pretty ashamed. I have done nothing for two days. I didn't log one calorie or do any workout. TOM came a calling Sunday and it's not pretty at all. So just totally sucked out the last couple of days. Will end my pity party tomorrow.

Sarah - I'm surprised your potassium was so low with the sushi. But it sounds like you had an excellent day and your workout video sounds great!
Dori - Feel better. And I love snow. It's my favorite part of winter, so I'm sad I'm going to miss it.
Dale - This is a shame free zone. Sometimes my period knocks me flat and getting out of bed is a real struggle. So I hope today is better.

I am on the road with my hubby this week. In fact if this post is full of typos, sorry- the truck is bouncing around and it is har enough just to make sure that I don't drop the computer. lol Hope everyone is having a grreat week. I will be rather sparadic asbout posting while on the road. Oh, I planned ahead for my food tho= brought a box of Slim fast meal bars and a box of Slim fast shakes. The plan is to eat them instead of resturant or truck stop food.
Ju/Dori= yas can have the snow. I don't want any!! It means that you are COLD. lol
Dale= Hope you are feeling better Sweetie! That treadmill and virtual trainer will be there when you are ready. It doesn't do any good to try to work out when you feel like you are going to fall over. Better to wait until you feel strong enough. And have you ever thought about the male names attached to those things we dread? BILL, TOM , JIM(gym) lol just saying.

And I had an excuse to talk to my friend. I'm really excited and I'm going to get up early tomorrow to try out the video. Have fun on the road, I'm glad you planned ahead.
Dale - I'm glad you're feeling well enough for a walk.
Operation Smile was crazy but fun. We were helping some Palestinian families who were brought in for surgeries. There were lots of Jordanian families too, but they didn't have the logistical issues that the people from the West Bank had. There was a lot of finding formula and finding out how long surgeries were, and I got to feel really helpful and translate for the very nice international volunteers who came with the mission. And, while I was in Amman I got running shoes. Finally.

I had a pretty bad night last night involving my ex. Let's just leave it at that.
As for today, just a walk, nothing else. Seeing Mary Poppins tomorrow night, should be great. All my North American cards are completed for the season and will be in the mail tomorrow :)

I was super stressed for a bit with essays and whatnot. I am feeling a bit better, just have two exams and one essay left! Got half of my Christmas shopping done! Woo.

For next semester I signed up for an Aerobic Kickboxing class! I am looking into signing up for another class as well, but it depends on my schedule.
Dale - The letters they don't call me for, which was why I forgot to tell you about it.
Amanda - I'm glad that you're working through the stress. I know that can be rough sometimes. Aerobic Kickboxing sounds like a great idea!
I met the family of one of my newer students and it was a good visit I think. I always feel a little out of place, but at least the food being offered was fruit. I'm not going to say no to apples and oranges.

Just a quick check in= I have not wworked out or even walked since monday. I have been careful with my eatting. Except for that slice of turtle cheesecake and scoop of chocolate icecream for dessert last night. The only thing I can say in my defense= it was our anniversary dinner (today is our anniversary) and cheesecake and diamonds go well together. lol
I would type more, but it is rather akward and bumpy in the truck. Hope everyone is havinn g a great day.

gb4e - The video is absolutely ridiculous - but my muscles were sore for a few days and I didn't even do the whole video so I'm sure its good. The colder weather is starting to hit here too. It's only -2C ish, but I'm dreading the cold weather - it makes me want to curl in a ball and eat carbs and sleep.
beacher - Don't feel bad! I still can't get myself to exercise. :S I'm a little worried about my TOM it will be the first one since I started counting. Luckily it's the week before Christmas for me, so hopefully my chocolate cravings disappear before I go home.

ju - It could just be that it wasn't all recorded in the CC entries, but the muscle spasms were all before the sushi as well. I tend to get muscle spasms a lot too - I used to get them all the time after chemo, in my hands! So painful and awkward.
marion - Hope you are having fun on the road!
amanda - You're almost done! It's going to feel so great! I feel your pain with my boyfriend - he's been studying his butt off too. Aerobic kickboxing sounds like it could be good! I'm still trying to get used to just having a week off for Christmas. I guess I'm lucky that my work does that.
marion - As long as you're careful about not eating 5000 calories its not a big deal. Congrats on your anniversary!!

Yeah, my work Christmas party is tonight - however both my bosses do this Isagenix diet thing so they will probably have healthy suggestions (it's greek food so I don't really have a clue on what to get). Anyway, sorry for not posting, I've been watching I just didn't know what to say (I'm such a creeper! ;) ).
Anyway, I've had a lot of trouble eating ENOUGH calories it seems this last week (often struggling just to get to 1200). I guess I'm just not used to all the healthy filling foods! So I think it's okay if I go over tonight. I plan on trying to workout this weekend. I was also thinking of getting a wii after christmas. :)

I have to finish off my shopping and get to wrapping the pressies and do the cards for my staff and stuff, so having a rather tame, yet busy weekend. I still haven't brought up all the decorations, so need to do that. Coming down with another cold, my immune system is a bloody joke this year, but seeing the doc today for regular check in so going to get him to check my throat and ears. On a very happy note, I got a good sleep last night. A full 6 hours, so I am bloody well thrilled about it.

Last nights dinner, according to my rough calculations on calorie count, did not completely screw me over (I only had a 53 calorie deficit - but it's still a deficit!).
I'm about to take the chance that I'm up early to go for a walk. I've got 2 pairs of leggings under my jeans and 3-5 layers on my top so here's hoping I don't get covered in hives!

sehmicor - not bad to knock me out, just annoying. But, still going strong. You did well on the dinner. Very cool on the walking, it is a brisk one today man oh man.
