does anyone know how can i lose one pound every 2 days...i have gained so much weight lately so fast that's why i want to lose it fast now...
As you will read if you search any of the forums, and healthy and normal weight loss is 1-2lbs a week. If you are worried about gaining weight fast, then take it off slowly so that way you know that it will stay off. Do it the right way, and don't rush yourself.
If you lose to fast you end up gaining it all back plus even more. Make a plan that includes having 500 calories less then what you expend for a day.
Be wise about this or you end up yoyoing.
The consequence of gaining weight so quickly is that you NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS.
No one is going to support or advise you to lose 1lb every 2 days. WHY? Because it is 100% unhealthy and harmful to your body.
If you care about yourself and your health, then you would accept the fact that yes you have gained weight, and so has everyone else here on this site at one point.
Look around... you will notice that no one supports the quick fix. BECAUSE THERE IS NO HEALTHY QUICK FIX to weight loss.
Losing weight does not happen overnight and should not happen overnight. You need to work for it - then you will appreciate it and realize that making healthy food choices and being active is the only way you will achieve steady and long term weight loss.
So set goals for yourself. And in a healthy manner work towards them. It will pay off in the end .... trust me.
my situation is different then yours, but i gained 30 lbs in 2 months (im short) during recovery. it put me over what even my doctors say i can maintain and be healthy. so now i have to very very slowly up my exercise while maintaining a good caloric intake. i gained so much very fast, but the process to get rid of anything is very slow.
if you think about it in terms of calories, 1 pound of fat is 3500 calories. so youd be trying to burn 1700 calories (or half a pound of fat) every day. unfortunately it isnt healthy and like the above posters said no one will advise you to do it. often your body will just go into starvation mode and try to live of what little youre giving it.
gaining weight is very frustrating. and losing it-even more so! but think about watching 2 lbs melt away every week. that can be satisfying to. youd be able to eat, be active and watch yourself get back to a comfortable weight for you. good luck!
I am 176 lbs down from 190 lbs, I'm currently losing about 1 lb every two days like you want to do. Now I know that people are telling you not to do it and that it's not healthy but that's a blanket statement, if you're dieting it's not true. Here's how to do it right.
1. Cut your sugar intake down to maybe 2 or 3 hard candies a day and switch to aspartame for all other sweetening needs. If your worried about aspartame here's some quick chemistry, aspartame hits your liver and turn into aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and a small amount of formaldehyde. You get more of those three chemicals in a glass of milk that you do in a diet pop.
2. Carbs, reduce them. Funny thing about carbs, there's a thing called the glycemic index that's job is to measure how quickly a food product raises your blood sugar. Refined table sugar has an index of 64 (higher is worse), regular coke is 63, white bread is 71 and whole wheat is the same, potatoes can be up to 90. just google glycemic index there's a site where you can search food and get answers. The reason this is important is because if your blood sugar goes up, so does your insulin but your insulin doesn't go away as fast and its job is to tell your body to convert and store blood sugar as fat. But here's the trick, if you keep your blood sugar low your pancreas will excrete ketones instead, their job is to tell your fat cells to release fat and your liver to convert it to blood sugar. You can do this by getting your calories from meat(index of 0), fat(index of 0) and not sweet vegies(indedx up to 20).
3. Saturated fat is good for you and will help you lose weight, please let me explain. There are three common types of saturated fat; stearic acid, palmitic acid and lauric acid. Stearic acid is animal fat and metabolises into oelic acid, otherwise known as olive oil and human body fat and has the same benefits as olive oil. Lauric acid is found in coconut oil and breast milk, it decreases cholesterol levels and is a slight immune booster. Palmitic acid lowers cholesterol.
The reason it's important to replace carbs with fat is you keep your blood sugar low, which decreases insulin, which then causes ketosis, which makes your body lose fat.
4. Eat less and excersise.
That's what I am doing...and it's working! Lost 17 inches since January first. I'm down from a size 12 to a size 6. I'm 5'6 and 32 years old.
Eat right, eat less, and exercise. Voila!

Nope, no plateau...but I was eating more like 1500 calories a day. Some days less, some days more. I eat about 40% of my calories from fat - I eat an avocado every day, coconut milk (high in fat), dark chocolate and olive oil...and am usually around 100 grams of carbs a day. Lots of water. Lots of veggies. Lots of lean protein.
Losing weight ultimately boils down to a mathematical equation when you compare your intake with your output. I will use myself as an example. My body naturally burns about 2,100 calories a day when I am not doing any exercise, and I am relatively sedentary. With a nice 500 calorie-burned workout thrown in, my daily output of calories would be 2,600.
Thus, if I want to do my 500-calorie burned workout, but still not lose any weight, I would have to consume 2,600 calories in the day. After all, you need fuel for workouts, and that comes in the form of calories (just think about someone like Michael Phelps, who has to exercise all day long, and says he consumes about 6,000 calories over the course of the day).
So now, lets assume I want to lose a pound every 2 days. A pound of fat is roughly equal to 3,500 calories, so my output would need to exceed my input by 3,500 over each period of 2 days in order for my body to continuously lose a pound every 2 days. 3,500 divided over 2 days, is 1,750. Thus, I would need to have a daily output that consistently exceeds my input by 1,750 calories.
For me, who does a totally normal routine of a 500-calorie burned workout each day, I would need to eat 850 calories in a day. That is as unhealthy a thing as I could imagine doing. That amount isn't anywhere close to enough for a person who is entirely sedentary, let alone active in the gym. At that point, your body is just starving itself, and consuming not just fat, but muscle as well. Plus, it slows down your metabolism so much that, when you start eating normally, your weight will go up faster than it did before.
Bottom line: No, trying to lose a pound every 2 days is terribly unhealthy and counterproductive to long-term weight loss goals.
When you gain fast, it is mostly fat. When you lose fast, it can include a significant fraction of muscle. Keep those cycles up, and you end up either "skinny fat," or just regular overweight-fat.
You've done the first half of an unhealthy gain/lose cycle. Don't compound the problem by doing the second half. Lose very slowly (if at all), while preserving your muscle mass.
note: "skinny fat" is when you have low muscle mass, and thus can have a high fat percentage, at an otherwise healthy weight. Women sometimes
I go way over my fat, according to calculators. But it works for me so I ignore the fat part on the calculator. I also go over sat fat because of the coconut milk - but there are a lot of studies out there about the benefits of the sat fats that come from this source and the lauric acid the coconut provides. I don't have an issue keeping carbs under control because I just don't eat very many of them. The only "starchy" carbs I ever eat come from 1/4 cup (dry) oatmeal or brown rice. I don't eat bread, regular pasta, potatoes, white rice, sugar etc. Most days I don't consume starchy or sugar carbs - period.
The way I get up to 1500+ calories is with the amount of fats I consume. As I mentioned, 40-50% of my calories come from fat. That leaves 750-900 calories to come from other sources like fruits, veggies, protein, carbs etc.
Sodium usually isn't a problem for me because I eat mainly "whole" foods...nothing processed...which eliminates the sodium, unless I add it myself.
Yes, I definitely keep eating even if my fats are over...because they're always over.
