I got this from a friend and I want to give it a try.  Tell me what you guys think.

Lose 10 lbs in 3 days!

1st day

Breakfast: Black coffee or tea, ½ grapefruit, 1 slice toast, 2tbs. Peanut butter.

Lunch: ½ cup tuna, 1 slice toast, coffee or tea.

Dinner: 7 slices any type of meat (about 3 ozs). 1 cup of string beans, 1-cup beets, 1sml apple, 1 cup of vanilla ice cream.

2nd day

Breakfast 1 egg, ½ bananas, 1 slice toast, black coffee or tea.

Lunch: 1-cup cottage cheese, 3 saltine crackers.

Dinner: 2 hot dog, 1 cup of broccoli, ½ cup carrots, 1 cup of vanilla ice cream.

3rd Day:

Breakfast: 3 saltine crackers, 1 slice cheddar cheese, 1 sml apple, black coffee or tea.

Lunch: 1 hard boil egg, 1 slice toast.

Dinner: 1 cup tuna, 1 beet, 1cup cauliflower, ½ cantaloupe, ½ cup vanilla ice cream.

This diet works on chemical breakdown and is proven. Do not Vary or substitute any of the above foods. Salt and pepper may be used, no other seasonings, where no quantity is given; there’s no restriction, other than common sense. This diet is to be used 3 days at a time.

In 3 days you will lose 10 lbs. After 3 days of dieting, you can eat a normal food, but do not overdo it. After 4 days of normal eating, start back on your diet. You can lose up to 40 lbs in a month if you stick to it.

i think anyone on here could come up with a so-called "diet" and go posting it around the web

day 1- two crackers

day 2- two marshmallows

day 3- two scoops of rocky road icecream

instant-weight-loss-diet-plan! Horrayz! :-D

just joined this site for the calorie counter chart. and stumbled upon this.

this diet DOES work, however like all diets if you can`t keep it off its really a time waste. a few might say "unheatly" "doesn`t work" etc etc. and that is very sad

THE facts are:

1.no diet pill or quick trim works without being monitored.

2.to call a 3 day diet unheatly and dangerous is crazy when there are people in 3rd world countries that go months and yrs without proper food. (this is 3 days out of your life)

3.if 3 days of eating far less of anything is dangerous.then what would you call those 30 hour famines? a death sentence?

HOWEVER  i wouldn`t recommend someone use it for days and days in a row.

and no matter what anybody says diets are hard and to burn fat is also very hard, so to stay slim you really have to want to stay slim.


if people are worried of trying a 3 day diet i have a better diet for you.

its called the HAM diet  (Half As Much)

cause in reality  there is no such thing as big boned or genes theory`s

Its Day three i have fallowed this to the exact and have not lost anything! ill weigh in tommrrow n le you know but i dont see this doing anything!!

Oooohhh,,tried this diet about 10 years ago.... I could only stand it for 1 day and it was like a living nightmare. Just say noooo!!

THIS DIET DOES INDEED WORK!!!!!!!

As a wrestler in high school, my weight is very important to me. Last year after wrestling season was over, I put on about 10 lbs. I was scared of not making weight the next year, so I gave this diet a try. Some of the food might not taste the best but it is well worth it. On the third day, I was 9 lbs. lighter than from before. Of course 9 is not 10, but this number will vary for different people.

Now don't blame this success on a highly active wrestling lifestyle and hard exercise; during this time, I did no physical activity except for lifting a few weights for personal training.

I am now around 25 lbs. over-weight for next year, so I am going to give this a shot again..

My cousins were all wrestlers so I know what you are talking about.  Still wrestlers are outside the realm of "normal".  The things they do to their body to make weight are terrifying and dangerous.  Please take care of yourself george. 

I'm going to play devil's advocate and say, maybe this plan would work for someone transitioning from a really high in fat/salt diet, one with little veg or other fresh food, and then provide them the motivation to keep going by moving to healthier foods?

But... yeah, chemical breakdown thing is pants, there's no magic chemical in hot dogs or most couch-potatoes would be so slim, they'd be falling down through the cracks in the sidewalk!

This is no different from any other fad, magazine, type diet.  Where do these people get such bizarre ideas?  Here is what's going to happen in those 3 days if you do this:  (from Ask Mary in the Advice section)

Answer The body burns muscle to meet the needs of the central nervous system.  That system, which accounts for at least 20% of calories burned, can only burn glucose, a carbohydrate  The body doesn't really store glucose, but protein, from the muscles, organs tissues, and cells, can turn into glucose, while fat cannot.  Protein breakdown continues until the metabolic rate shifts to burn fewer calories from all sources.  That shift is familiarly called "starvation mode" and it is a life-sustaining adaptation. To forestall starvation mode, lose weight slowly, do muscle building exercise to offset muscle loss, and eat about 20% of your calories from protein.

In those three days you will lose some water weight, and then you will gain it all, every single pound and more, right back.  It just does not work and it's very unhealthy for even a short time. 

I'm sorry, but there are no weight loss short cuts and no magic method.  It takes commitment and a willingness to change your life for good, not just for now.  I'm living proof of that.

I'm surprised that this diet has as big an effect as 10 lbs.  It looks more like short term undereating than a starvation regime.  I count about 2500 calories eaten over 3 days. That's enough deficit for an average sedentary person to lose a pound of real weight.  The rest  of the effect has to be water and glycogen elimination, which would be quickly regained even if eating a normal weight-loss diet.   Been there done that, usually with multiple days of high exercise rather than undereating. But I've never seen an effect more than 2-3 pounds at healthy weight.  

A wrestler or a model or a jockey might be able to use this approach to make weight. But I pity anyone having to do any strenuous activity immediately afterwards.  It's the direct opposite of carbo loading, and strips the body of its ready energy reserves.

I did not lose anything and i fallowed it to the exact all that happened was when i went to eat normal foods again they made me sick!
