Hey all, been over a week since I have been able to submit and no computer so I missed reading everybody's posts. :)

Goal weight: 130
Positive choice: Did not make the best decisions this last week but still lost 2 lbs... thank goodness. At my son's birthday party I opted out of no cake and ice cream. Glad to be back with everyone! :)
Good to see you're back! I was starting to wonder if everything was okay.

Positive Choice: I did insanity everyday last week. I will try to make it two weeks in a row but it will be tough to get it in today. I should have done it at 5 am when I first woke up. I did gain 2 pounds but I am crossing my fingers that it is water weight-I don't think I ate 7000 extra calories this week!!!!
It must be water weight! You'd know for sure if you'd eaten that much extra :)

Goal weight: 143 lbPositive choices: I signed up for Zumba and I'm thinking about going swimming once a week. I know there aren't any calories burned for 'thinking about', but I'm considering being seen in public in a swimsuit so I consider that quite a positive thing!
I've lost 28 lb in 7 weeks (6 of those on CC), and I'm eating a reasonable amount of calories and getting a moderate amount of exercise. It feels pretty good! I know it's going to get more difficult to lose big numbers each week as I get closer to a normal weight, and even more difficult as approach my goal, but I'm hoping the momentum I have now will carry me a little closer.
I hope you've all had another good week
Your doing great! You and the dog have more quality time together.
Just keep making it fun and you'll keep that momentum up.
Good job Dana! Lots of challenges when you are on vaca - well done.

Planning is the first step forward, keep thinking positive!
Reporting for my first check-in~
Age: 25
Height: 5'8"
Current weight: I stepped on the scale today, and it read 201! I think part of it was water weight fluctuation, but it's such a great feeling to know I'm about to crack into the 100s.
Goal weight: 140
Positive choices: I've been moving into a new apartment, but I've managed to stay on target with my calorie intake (even if I'm not filling all the green bars). Planning to walk to my errands tomorrow for a little extra exercise.

So close! You're almost there!! And a few pounds after you crack the 100s, you drop into a lower BMI band -- the one CC calls 'mildly overweight' :)
Will power does feel great! ;) I love giving my kids a treat (which doesn't happen often in my house) and knowing I don't need it... I may want it, but I want to be healthier more than I want the junk food.

Ihan- I have never done Zumba but it sounds like a fun workout... do you need to be coordinated to take it?? I mean, I'm sure anyone can do it, but I have 2 left feet and I'm really clumsy. ;) Great job on your success. Can see you are doing great! :)
You probably need a bit of coordination to do it well, but you can sure have fun and burn calories without much coordination!! Give it a go. I really didn't feel as if I was working out until after we stopped and I could have jumped into a pool to dry off a bit.

Hi ladies, I am trying to lose weight as well started a diet two weeks ago, it's been really hard but I'm staying strong, I found this calorie count app and really loving it, by counting my calories every day helps to control my self, well anyways My story is that I was 125 when I got married 4 years ago, had my first baby two years later and ended up being 160 lb I lost 12 ponds and got pregnant again, my second baby is now 3 months old and I'm 177 now, being on a diet and counting my calories, I lost 6 pounds last week I haven't weighted my self this week yet, it's so encouraging to read other people write about their goals and so I decided to share my goal with y'all, I want to be at least 128, and I know it's a long way to go , but I did two weeks now and I feel real good about myself so I'm not giving up yet :)
Great start! Good luck :) I've found counting calories really helpful, but where it really works for me is when I plan what I'm going to eat for the whole day in advance. That means getting all the right nutrition (green bars on the analysis page) and plenty of food -- and no nasty surprises when I come to log. It also means asking 'is it worth it' when intending to eat certain higher calorie foods. Sometimes, yes it is, but other times ... maybe I'll make a better choice so I can eat more. It's an approach to try, if you haven't already.

I love what you said Dana .... "I want it but I want to be healthier more". What a great mantra! I think I will try and say that every time I am tempted. Thank you! I heard another good one lately, can't remember where I saw it, "thin feels better than food tastes" or, in my case I switched it to trying to GET thin, feels better than food tastes! Good luck this month!

Whenever I feel the urge I think, "will power feels better than guilt!" Funny how a lil' saying can be so powerful in our brains.

So true! After I posted I read the cc newsletter and almost the same quote in there re: feeling good .... guess it's been around for a long time but I just heard it recently. I read your profile - our 'quest' is almost identical. I am 10 yrs older than you, but when I retired in 2005 I was at my highest 278 - new I was 'overweight' - to put it mildly! but .... looking in the mirror I never really saw an obese person, which I now know I was. It has taken me a while - the first 4 or 5 years I lost and regained the same 20 or 30 lbs over and over (as I had done previously for the last 25 years!). Something finally clicked in October 2010 and I suddenly realized I CAN lose weight - but to keep it off something needed to change and for me, that was no longer putting the focus of my life on the 'joy' of eating. I love tasting yummy things - now I realize I get that same joy out of just one forkfull, or spoonful - after the initial tastebud 'joy' - it is just eating. Now I sneak a taste of what my husband has (if we are not eating the same thing - which only happens in restaurants) which at home is usually dessert. Since adopting my new life style - and realizing I was not on a diet - this was the way it had to be - I am down around 68 lbs since Oct 2010 - but almost 80 since I retired. I have lost 20 since joining this site the end of March this year. I am under 200 for the first time in over 20 years. If you are not there yet, you will be soon - I read your profile and you certainly have the determination and motivation! I love the pic of your german shepherd - looks almost like one I had when I was growing up - she was light coloured like yours and her name was Sable. We got her when we were posted to England and brought her back to Canada. By the way, the difference between your before and now pictures are fantastic! You look great - congratulations and keep up the good work!

Motivation, I got! lol You made me LMAO, and take a double look at my gallery. I'm no where near "there" yet. I am just starting. You saw the pics of my gf, not me. LOL She's about 100 lbs and 12 years less than me. Gave me a great laugh!
Mulligan was a shep/boxer, a great dog that is very missed. He had a long life, more than any dog I've had before. He was just so happy with his life, he didn't know when his time was up. Good way to live.

Ok - took another look --- the one of you with the actors - Is that not an up-to-date showing some weight loss?? I thought it was - and stick to my original comment! Well done!
