How many meals/snacks do you eat per day?

Quote  |  Reply

Before I started counting calories and losing weight, I probably ate around 2 very calorie dense meals and a bunch of nibbling in between meals. Now I eat around 7 times a day:

Breakfast
Snack 1
Lunch
Snack 2
Dinner
Snack 3
Snack 4

I eat every 2 to 3 hours and I find that it helps to keep me satisfied because a meal or snack is right around the corner all day long. How about you? Smile

I usually have 2 snacks as well as the main meals.

Usually goes:

Breakfast: Egg, bacon, toast, grapefruit juice (400 cal)
Snack: Granola bar
Lunch: Sandwich or something similar (300 cal)
Snack: Apple, granola bar, fruit juice
Dinner: Varying, but a lean meat, some tasty sauce and a starch (500 cal)
Snack: maybe a small bag of popcorn, or serving of chips and salsa

So I guess that makes about 6 "meals," sometimes a few more small snacks. All-in-all, around 1700-1800 calories a day, which is right where I need to be to lose a little weight (once my daily exercise is put in).

I'm on the 5 mini meal plan.

I have 5 300 calories meals about every 3 hrs.

It works great for me. I'm pretty much always full and as a natural snacker personality I like not having to wait the long wait between meals.

Mine goes:

snack

breakfast

snack

snack

lunch

snack

snack

dinner

snack

snack

small snack before bed

i eat a lot =\

coffee/mocha

lunch

dinner

snack

sometimes another snack when I stay up way late

Big meals are too heavy for me so I'm a big snacker. The most calories I eat at one time is usually my breakfast (whole milk in my coffee, 1/2 cup cooked grain + 1 Tbsp nutbutter/flax seed & a fruit.

I cook a "real dinner" for my family but I usually have a big vegetable salad or stir fry (+ pepperocinis & jalapenos, of course!) with baked tofu, beans or whatever protein I've cooked my family & a peice of fruit.

I won't eat after 7!

I've had 1 meal & 5 snacks today. I have 400 more calories to eat.

some days 7 meals or snacks some days 2 meals or snacks.

today was a bad day as far as eating. cereal at noon and a thin crust multigrain pizza for dinner. no appetite and overate yesterday anyway.

most days it is 4-6 meals/snacks.

Anywhere from 3 -5 meals/snacks depending on how busy my day is.  I try to shoot for:

breakfast

lunch

midafternoon snack

dinner

another very small snack (because I tend to be up very late)

I've realized using CC that I actually need to be careful that I get enough calories.  I never would have thought that I'd be in that situation since I love food so much.  One of the reasons I love this website.

I typically have 4 small meals & 2 snacks of 100 kcals or less.

on most days i eat 4 meals which are around 300 calories, give or take 50. Everyone on here seems to consider those "mini-meals" but i dont really get it because they take up a whole dinner plate... maybe i eat differently than most people. I eat a lot of veggies and rice and lean meats these days. I also have a 75 calorie (give or take 50 again) snack a few hours after my first 2 or 3 meals, depending on when I had breakfast usually. so, about 7 times a day all together, evenly spaced. Just as i begin to get hungry, it's time to eat again. I get low blood sugar easily, (no, i am not diabetic) so eating this way makes it easier to manage. Before, i used to eat about two to three times a day, a lot of sugars and caffeine, and nearly every day i would have a hypoglycemic episode. I got overweight from eating too much when my glucose levels dropped, and because by the time i stopped to eat I was ravenous. Another issue is that i love food, and i am a creature of the senses... how things feel, taste, smell, and look are highly important to me. Add the holiday season on to that, and it's a recipe for disaster. I'm slowly getting the weight off, about half a pound a week, 7 pounds so far! It's good to see i'm not the only one who eats all the time. I often feel like I am eating too much, but i manage to easily stay in my calorie range, and i keep losing weight, albeit slowly so i guess its ok.

I just eat when I am hungry, which ends up being about every 2-3 hours. this seems to work best for me. Sometimes it goes too long, I am RAW vegan and if I can't find something I like I will go hungry until good food is available. but in general I try not to go too long, cause then I tend to binge or get tempted by evil foodsInnocent

Try to have 3 meals and 2 snacks.  One between breakfast and lunch and one between lunch and dinner.

And really, not eating, snacking, grazing or whatever after 7:00 or 8:00 pm really does help.  So, try not to have another snack after dinner.  If you're craving dessert, try to choose something low in fat or a small portion to satisfy the craving, but not too late in the night.  At least 3 solid hours before you go to bed.

You want to burn stored calories in your sleep not the calories you just consumed.

I eat roughly every 2 hours starting at 8am.  Mostly fruits and veggies, where breakfast and lunch consist of some fruit or veggie with a protein shake.  Then I have a "real meal" for dinner.

I do pretty much the same thing

Breakfast
Snack
Lunch
Snack
Dinner
Snack (if I need more calories)

Here's mine:
Breakfast
Pre-workout snack
Lunch (right after my workout)
Pre-workout or mid-day snack
Dinner (right after my workout)

This is pretty much the only way I don't end up starving.
I eat 2 - 4 meals a day depending, though if it's 4 meals, the 4th meal will just be a piece of fruit.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
