my friend told me today that since i lost 30 lbs in the past and gained it back so quickly, i could never lose that weight again no matter what i do because my body won't be tricked. i refused to believe that but she says she  spoke to an expert about it and that it's true. is she lying? i hope it's not true cos' i've been trying and backsliding

That's definitely not true. Possibly it could take longer to lose it again, but weight is changeable and it's definitely not impossible for you to lose it.
Your body and your mind are pliable.   Both can change.  It may take some nutritional and/or exercise manipulation but it is possible.  Lots of people on this site, myself included have dealth with the same problem.

I'm 24 pounds down currently with about 6 to go to hit that 30lb mark you just mentioned.

Don't get discouraged, just keep manipulating your nutrition and exercise until you find the recipe your body needs for success!
slimlady, i say this with love, but you seem hell bent on finding a reason why you can't lose weight.

I know the feeling -- that it's hopeless.  But it's not.  That alleged expert is full of baloney.  With friends like yours, who needs enemies?  Tell your friend that if he or she can't say something positive about your efforts to lose weight, to just keep their mouth shut.

I am proof it can be done.  Others here are proof it can be done.   You just have to make up your mind to do it, and if you fall off the wagon, then get back on.  We've all been there, done that.
Your friend is an idiot.

Your friend seems to be trying to sabotage your efforts.

Have your friend make an account here so we can discuss what she knows.  If she knows nothing and is only regurgitating information she heard from someone else, lets have that someone else post up here.

Yo-yo dieting is not good.  What happens is that you lose weight fast.  The weight you lost is mostly muscle.  When you gain it back, you are gaining fat.  So you lost muscle and gained fat.

All it is is that you now have a higher body fat %.  It will take longer to burn it off, but with a healthy living plan, and more importantly some exercise to build up that muscle again, you can lose weight.

I lost some quick pounds a few years ago.  I'm now at a lower weight I was when I had lost that quick weight.

gosh, i hope your friend is wrong because this is my second time losing weight, and i don't want to lose hope.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
