New 10-15 pound Weight Loss Group
I had the best group last year. We emailed each other with our food plan for the next day, talked about events that might cause a problem and how we could make it easier to get threw, and things going on in our lives. We have become very close and all had good success.
We made it to our goals and now I want to go down 10 more pounds and then learn how to maintain that weight. Now I need a new group to keep me accountable and make weight loss more enjoyable.
I'm 5'6" and 146 pounds. I am going on vacation on March 26th and would like to be at goal.
Hello Chatty, well it is Tuesday and I bought a scale today. I did not get a chance to weigh in at the gym since last week. But, according to my new scale I am 134pounds from 138 last week (a 4 pounds lost). I am not too enthusiastic about that though because I did not weigh in on the scale I am use to so I am wondering if there is some margin of error on this scale as I still feel fat. But, I will see when I go to the gym tomorrow and weigh in there as I usually do and I will then see if this scale is worth anything. Also I have been totally going off my diet for the last couple of day so that is one more reason for not believing this new scale.
Hope all you guys are doing well and dont be like me... don't get frustrated and give up when you are not getting the results you want, you will just sabotage your progress. Keep going and be strong, because together we can do it.
I totally do this! If I am really good and nothing comes off, then I will just give up and binge eat. Which starts all my bad habits up again... and before I know it I have gained 10 pounds! In the Spring I did this when my back went out. I went up 11 pounds. But now I am down 8 of them, and still have 3 to go to goal. You guys are an important part of getting past this defeating pattern! When I get off track, you guys inspire me to get back on track. Thank you!
Hope everyone else is having success this week! It's been quiet in here. Everyone must be enjoying summer activities. Take care and happy losing!
hey guys, it's me. i'm still stuck at 125 even though i've been working out and eating right this week. best of all, my gym membership's been cut and i'm off on vacation next week. =S
Hey everyone Just wondering if I could join? I'm 122 and 5'1 would like to be around 110. Oh and I'm also vegan.
yah I have been away due to summer activities, :) But with that been eating poorly and been hardly on the site. I hope to change that this week then weight in. I am scared of seeing if I gained from the cottage.
lisseth I totally hear you. I'm scared of the scale this week as well. Two weekends ago it was virgin festival here in baltimore which meant doing what I do rarely... drinking insane amounts and eating lots of crappy food. Monday I was hungover and ate more crappy food. By Wednesday night I could FEEL the water weight. My tummy jiggled as I walked. Thankfully I drank water like it was my job and got back to normal. Right before virgin fest I actually found the 148's again... afterwards I was right at 150... still acceptable. This week, I don't know. It seems like the past week there's been a lot of eating out plus I visited a friend of mine up in Jersey and that means lots of girl time with chocolate covered pretzels and ice cream. Plus my gym was closed last week for summer maintenance. Needless to say I figured last week was a total bust in all respects so I basically slacked in both eating and exercising. I think I'm going to wait until the weekend to weigh in!
I weighed myself this morning and the scale said 128.8. Before the cottage and the Mayhem Festival concert I went to on the 8th (where I ate crappy poutine and lots of beer), and during the week away I drank too much beer and ate way to much greesy meat food.
So it says I gained 6.8 pounds on here, which I hope is mainly water weight.
Back to weight loss, and then hopefully maintenance won't be too bad. And I have to get back into my workout routine which I stopped before the summer :(
(edit: oh wait, OP said that the deadline was March 26th '08. D'oh.)
Hey everyone! I hope things are going well. So I know I said I wasn't going to weigh in but I couldn't help myself. The scale says 150.4 which is pretty good considering how bad (both eating and exercising) last week was and that TTOM is just around the corner. I'm happy!
Also I'm trying really hard to get into the morning run routine. My goal is to have two long morning runs each week. Monday didn't go so well but today went beautifully! I ran 5.8 miles (about an hour of running). A new personal best! I ate a lot of food to make up for the lost energy though. I'm not worried about it because my body needs fuel! I had a small small zucchini bread piece (homemade!) before the run, then after I made a protein shake with plain yogurt, some frozen fruit, and about a half cup of milk. I couldn't help myself and also ate half a buttered bagel. In my opinion the bagel was the fuel I'd need to not totally poop out at work. Needless to say I'm still wasting time on the internet but at least I'm not tired! Honestly I feel great! My legs are jello and I love it :-)
How is everyone else doing? Is summer easier or harder time to lose for you? The two times a year that I tend to gain is Christmas to New Years and summer. The easiest time is usually February to April.
I have been doing great with the eating the last week and a half, although I may have been under eating because I have a stomach ulcer that makes eating uncomfortable.
I am currently at 137. Two pounds from goal. Hopefully I am as good at maintaining when I lose those two as I seem to be at it right now. Oh well, I guess slow and steady wins the race.
Although I had a terrible day today (I ate cereal, 3 reduced fat mozzerella sticks, 1 soft pretzel, chicken, a snack size bag of cookies :( , terriyaki chicken with some noodles, and a half of hostes Chocolate pie.) It was a terrible day at work today. So I gave in and stress ate. I ended up having to work by myself and I took in 60 kids between the time of 10-5. Not to mention my job is all on my feet with constant movement. I only sat once and I worked from 10-9. Hopefully the scale isn't too tough on me tomorrow.
Hey Chattynoel and all... I have been reading your discussion and am not only impressed with the support you show eachother, but also with the great knowledge and common sense you all show with regard to nutrition and weight loss! I would love to be part of your group, if you have room for one more...
About me...Well, like alot of you, I'm sure, I have been working on losing and/or keeping off the same 10# for the past 10 years! I am 5'5" and currently weigh 130#...I should say, I think I weigh 130#, but I haven't gotten on the scale since Aug 15th and I was 129.2 then. I exercise alot, count calories, and eat a really healthy diet...most of the time... My biggest issue is I get frustrated and depressed when I work really hard and the scale does not reflect it, then I tend to want to give up, binge eat and stop working out and of course I regain any weight I may have lost.
My long term goal weight is 120#, but I feel pretty good at 125#, so that is my short term goal. My highest weight ever was 144#.
Look forward to being part of your group...if you'll have me!
Yes, there is always room for one more! Welcome to our group!
Thanks for the welcome!
I'll just jump right in with my daily wine/complaint...LOL.. I did not work out Fri, Sat or Sun this weekend and my boyfriend took me out to dinner last night and now I DO NOT feel like going to the gym today!
We went for Sushi, which is my absolut favorite and pretty healthy except the sodium, but I also had 3 glasses of wine with dinner. The weekends are my most difficult time. My BF and I always go out to dinner on Sun night and I usually don't work out on the weekends.
I know I will feel better after I get done at the gym, it's just getting the motivation to go that is hard today. But I am planning to run 4-5 miles on the TM and do another 20-30 min on the elyptical machine.
Did I mention I am going to Vegas on Sept 3rd and will need to be in a bikini??? Ugh!
VEGAS BABY!!
I am so happy to see how everyone has done. Keep up the good work and for those who are not so happy, don't worry just don't beat yourself up.
I, on the other hand, am maintaining my 134lbs for the past 2 weeks. I am not totally unhappy because at least i am not gaining and I know what I need to do to start losing again so I am truly grateful.
I can't wait to see more updates.
My husband came home with a chick flick and my favorite chocotate pie on Friday night. He was trying to be romantic. I didn't know how to get out of eating a slice of the pie, so I ate a small piece.
The scale was up three pounds after the weekend. I had a lot of sodium on Sunday plus the pie, so I am unsure what got me the fat or the water retention or both. Hopefully it drops down in the next couple of weeks. Now I am five pounds from goal instead of the two. Basically I am back in square one.
Luckily school starts in a week so things will get easier! When the kids get on a schedule it allows me to get back on my schedule so it's a win/win.
That was actually really sweet of your husband. You can't fault him for that...but the pie is hard to resist when it is right in front of you.
I went to the gym after work yesterday and ran 4 miles and walked 1 and also did 45 min on the elyptical. This morning I was really hungry and ate 1c Kashi Heart to Heart cereal with 1/2c Fiber One and 4oz skim milk. An hr later I was hungry again and had 1c cut up fruit and 1Tbs peanut butter. It seems like the more I work out the more I want to eat. I'm not sure if I'm happier a little heavier but in better shape or thinner and weaker? Right now all I can think about is what's for lunch!
When your working out hard like that, your body will want more food. And your doing everything right... you are eating more but also making good choices! As they say your eating with a purpose (getting more nutrients per calorie and to fuel your body.)
I am very proud of you!!!!
Had a good workout yesterday. 1 hr cardio class, 40 min TM, and 20 min elyptical and had a LF eggplant parm for supper.
scale this am- 129.4# Not too bad.
I am definately going to cut back on calories for the next week because I need to be ready for Vegas. I know I will only be able to lose maybe 3# tops, which will be mostly water weight but I will feel a little better anyway.
Today I am getting my hair cut really short (pixy)..hope it's not a mistake. Anyway, hair grows back. Right?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
