I've been trying to figure out that one too...
NLEA = Nutrition Labeling and Education Act

Basically an NLEA serving is the amount that you would "customarily eat in one sitting".

You can read up on it here.....

link is outdated/not found

I have been wondering about a proper serving and its weight.  I found this website through links from another forum.  It is great!!  You can look up any food and it will tell you the weight in grams - including the NLEA serving.
