I have a pear shaped body!! Please Help

Quote  |  Reply

I have a pear shaped body which means I have a heavy lower half and I believe it is only exercise that can help me reduce as with diet-ing I tend to lose my upper body faster...

It is also in my genetics to put on weight on my hips and thighs as all my paternal aunts are sporting similar body type .. so is it easy to fight heredity problems and is exercise the only solution ?

I have a personal trainer at gym who designs a workot program targeting my fat areas .. i do a lot of circuit, squats lunges, leg raises, curls and works

But unfortunately I am not losing weight down there, Am still battling wobbly thighs with outer bulge and fat buttocks ( cellulite is another issue:(

Is there any special program that i can follow or diet that would help. i also do cardio thrice in a week ..  comparatively my upper body is slimmer and more toned ...

guys/friends/experts please help me find a permanent solution .. Iam really tired and lost in dealing with this issue of mine !

I find the only thing that helps one out with body shape issues, is by finding other people who are hung up about their shape (which is your shape) and you can related, motivate and share your common frustrations. Because you cannot spot reduce and until your body fat % is in a certain range you won't see the improvement from exercising body composition wise (or at least really notice).

I am the apple shape when it comes to where fat goes on my body I joined a apple shape group and just weight loss motivation groups and they really all beneficial but not one better than the other. But I can see the frustration when a pear is doing everything just  to get to a size 10/12 pant and the apple shapes starts as at a 10/12 pant, one can't relate. And in the same scenario a pear can be happy they are a size 6/8 dress size still in an overweight or high BMI range and an apple has to cut off their breast (over dramatization :P) or struggles to have a safe hip/waist ration.

Basically we all have to do the same thing but how we get their can really help with support/motivation knowing we can relate to others with same issues. Diet and exercise are the solutions universally and a whole lot of patience/waiting time.

I would recommend doing high weight and low reps.  I have lost a lot of fat doing that (also eating at a deficit).
