January is the last time I've had my period.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with losing weight, although I've only gone down from about 140-145 to 120, since October. I've also seen that it might have something to do with stress and exercise... I've recently started exercising... so I'm thinking that it might have something to do with all of that combined.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why I'm not having one? I've also heard that missed periods are usually due to hormonal imbalances, specifically low amounts of estrogen that can be regulated with the birth control pill. Is this true?

i actually haven't had mine since the april BEFORE last. it's been over a year. i've told my parents and they want me to see a doctor but everytime i call (military doc) they are all full or they want me to see my primary care doc before the gyn. it's annoying. i don't know what it is either...
kms, I'm not surprised that you haven't gotten a period- looking at your activity level i'd almost be more surprised if you did have one.  you're at pretty much as thin as you can possibly be and you have a very heavy workout schedule.  Most competitive gymnasts don't have regular (or any, once you reach a certain level) periods, either.
I've had an experience similar to kellbells'.  However, I just had my period after a year long hiatus.  I should probably go to the doctor, too.  Since then, I have only had 4 periods from the time I turned 15.  Be sure to talk with you doctor.  S/he will be able to help you.
I was researching on the internet and found some useful information.  Here is an excerpt from an article that I read from www.noperiod.com.

"Amenorrhea, the stopping of the period for more than 6 months, can also happen if there are problems like being underweight, overweight, sick, stressed, or even addicted to drugs; these are all things that can shut off ovulation and the menstrual cycle...irregular periods should see a doctor to find out the reason for the problem"

I've been stressed lately, but I don't know... It could be anything.  I don't mean to scare you.  Also, like saroful said, activity could do be causing it.  You sound pretty healthy to me.

If it is the case that activity can cause this even in a healthy person, does that mean the person will still be able to have children?  If you would cut down your activities, in other words, would your period come back?  I mean, this would be my biggest worry - I don't know if I would call m/s healthy if my healthy habits are causing my body to shut down certain functions.  If one doctor doesn't know what's causing it, I would go to a specialist, an obgyn, I dunno... I would be worried enough to look into it.  I hope you girls take care of yourselves.
kell you are old enough to start seeing a gyn.
saroful- thats what my doctor said too. although he does't think that its going to be healthy for me to go much longer with out it. It could cause problems in the long run.
Poohb - here in Pennsylvania they can't turn you away from an ER or a doctor's office, but they CAN and do bill you and then dun you for the money.  This happened to a friend of mine.

Planned Parenthood is your best bet.
You can also call your local health department. They are normally preaty low cost.
I had this happen to me years ago and the doc gave me a shot that started me.

keep us posted
The same thing happened to me...except it only took two and a half months to get my period again. I think it was my body's shock towards diet and exercise (because I NEVER worked out before).
thanks everyone... yeah, i promise i'm going to go within the next or two (although apart from the medical concerns, not having a period is kind of nice). i'll keep everyone posted; i have a feeling it isn't going to be a big deal or anything, but i know that i have to at least take precautionary measures instead of doing nothing about it.
Fat deficiency can definetly do it too...I haven't had mine since October, then got in in January, and haven't had it since. Thing is, I eat veeery low-fat.
the weird thing is though im getting 45+ grams of fat. so i should have gotten mine by now. its been 8 going on 9 months!
mine's been gone for two months since i started with CC...
i just want it back (and i never thought i would ever want a period!)

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
