It is more than likely water weight, which will shed with the ending of your period (or a week or so after).
Don't freak out or stress, you'll make it worse by aggravating your body. Just eat well, drink enough, and exercise.
Uncleben, you need to get it through your head that your weight and the amount of fat you have on your body are two different things, and the number on the scale is not a reflection of how much fat you have lost. You are not back to square one, and as a woman, you are just going to have to accept that your body retains water at times. Plus, you were planning on losing 5-7 pounds in 1-2 weeks? That doesn't sound very healthy, unless you have a LOT of weight to lose, and judging by your profile picture, you dont.
also water makes me look huge and fat and the number on the scale really bothers me so it feels like i am back at square 1
Well, then that's how you feel, and there's nothing that WE, the forums, can do about that.
That's something you're going to have to conquer in time, and accept as a fact of life, or FREAK OUT EVERYTIME YOU GAIN WATER WEIGHT. I prefer the acceptance route, myself.
im asking how to avoid gaining this weight.
i normally gain 3-4 lbs because i eat a lot during the time before my period but this time i ate clean and still gained the weight
you're always ridin me in every thread i make. god damnitttt.
Just track it. If I have a really bad few water days I do lower carbs just to lose water bloat. I dont stay that way so I dont get in the low carb trap...But it helps a little bit.
I actually have a more stable wt with a higher normal amount of sodium. And if you are doing low carb on those days you dont want to go low sodium either as low carb is dehydrating and makes you thirsty. You can develop all those low sodium problems discussed earlier.
Try drinking smart water or gatorade. Anything with electrolytes. It will fix your salt balance (you still need to eat it of course but it helps when it gets thrown off by doing what you did) After your salt balance is restored you will cling to less water wt. Also drink the proper amount of water. Generally 1/2 your wt in ounces per day.
whenever i have a normal amount of sodium near the time of my period i start drinking alot . im aways really thirsty around the time of my epriod so i thought reducing sodium would help but no such luck im just as thirsty. this is so weird
You drink alot because you are most likely dehydrated and when you have the salt it signals the body to rehydrated because its safe to. (remember too low salt = heart attack?) Drink gatorade instead of plain whenever you have that crazy thirst like that.
Everyone gets thirsty/snacky with pms. Some more than others.
+5.6 lbs that went away and is still going away. I feel like another pound or two of water weight will come off by the looks of it.
(it may be more than 5.6 of water gain because im dieting too so my new real wt post bloat may be even lower)
every girl gains weight during her period. if its that bad for you, take some water pills
btw, its a bit annoying when you think everyone is riding you on threads, you just seem ignorant when you do that
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
