Is it possible to gain 6 lbs in 3 days?? Please help me!

I am freaking out almost to the point of becoming bulimic. On Sunday, I weighed 122 lbs. However, that night I binged.... A LOT. I had 3 huge brownies. The next day I couldn't resist once again and had a few more brownies and a much larger meal than I usually eat. Today, once again I had 1 more brownie (I threw the rest away after finally deciding that I had a chocolate addiction) and I also had a large meal once again. Tonight, I weighed myself- 128 lbs!!! I am freaking out so much... I don't know what to do. This summer I lost 15 lbs only to gain 6 of that hard work back in 3 days... and with only a few days left until school! So, is the weight all fat? Will it take me as long to lose it again as it did the first time I lost it, or will it come off pretty quick? Please explain to me what has happened and tell me how I can fix it ASAP. Thank you so much in advance....

Rule of thumb: weight that's gained over a long period of time will take time to lose while weight that's gained in a few days will take only a few days to lose

It's madly unlikely that you put on six pounds of fat in three days.  Just start eating sensibly again; I bet the number will drop quickly.

For you to gain 6 lbs in 3 days, you would need to eat 21000 calories over what you normally burn in those days. I don't know your age/height, but I'm guessing that's at least 2k. Unless you've eaten almost 10k calories per day, it's water and food weight (which doesn't equal weight gained). My weight can fluctuate 5 lbs in a single day, depending on how much I drink.. just a liter of water is 2.2 lbs.

This is why I only weigh once a week. My weight goes up and down within a few pounds on a day to day basis. Just drink lots of water, get back on track, and weigh again in a week. I'm sure you'll be back down. I also recommend weighing at the same time each time. I prefer first thing in the morning.

it is possible to gain water weight..excerise and eat healthy for a week or so and that weight will vanish as fast as it came on.

@scarlettoh77- I have the same problem! 2 weeks ago I was consistenly in the 125s and then literally over night I am in the 128s and can't seem to shake it. If you come up with any good solutions please do share!

Age/height/weight?

If this is how you feel all the time, I would recommend to speak with a doctor or counselor. Not trying to be mean, but your attitude is a bit worrisome. Weighing 128lbs is not that bad. Even if you are only 5' tall, it might not make you scrawny, but it is by no means anything to be 'freaking out' about, as you said. Also, your other thread says that since you have been dieting you have lost your period, so I am a bit concerned.

Eating 'big' brownies and an extra big meal is not a binge, so unless there were thousands of other calories you ate in a short amount of time and didn't tell us about it, you just at a little more than normal and it's no big deal. Weight fluctuates a lot. It could be from water, too much salt, food volume, etc. I can be +5 lbs in one day, it happens sometimes.

Sure, it sucks to see a sudden increase on the scale, but (like the first poster said) unless you are eating 21000 calories extra a day it is probably just a normal fluctuation and nothing to worry about.
