Post Meals, Share Information, Weigh in every Monday! Everyone welcome

Quote  |  Reply

Hi Everyone,

*So I've revised this group because I want to be able to share information, get ideas, and be held accountable.  I think by having more members that I will benefit more from it!

Since there are a lot of us Maritimers here I thought I would create a group where we can connect and have weekly weigh-ins.  I'm also going to track my inches because losing inches is my main target right now.

I'll be posting my starting stats tomorrow morning and we'll have the weekly weigh-in every Monday!  Maybe this will help us curve our weekend appetites :)

Please add anything else you wish to share ..i.e receipes, daily menu, workouts etc.

Jenn (NS)

Hi Ladies,

As promised.

 Height: 5'6

 Weight: 143.5

 Inches:

Bust: 35

Waist: 35

Hips: 40 (Steph-I've always seen them measure about mid way down your bottom and around!)

I'll add my inches tonight (couldn't find my tape)!!

Good luck :)

 Ok...first weigh in

Weight: 140 (down 3.5 lbs)

Bust: 35 (no change)

Waist: 35 (no change)

Hips: 39 (down 1 inch)

Ok...so I know I could have definitely done better but my weekend eating was awful and so I think the extra 2 lbs I was missing earlier in the week came back on Sunday! lol

Good luck everyone :)

Here's where I'm at:

Height- 5'6" Current weight- 125.2pds Goal weight- 110-115

waist- 30"

hips/thighs (I don't really know where one ends and the other begins)- 37"

weight- 124.2pds

waist- 30"

hips/thighs- 36"

One pound down! That's good news. Frustrating because I wish it came off as easy as it went on but I guess losing weight is a practice in patience as well as realizing that if I do it fast, I'll likely go back to my old way of eating, but if it takes time I am more likely to develop the habit of eating healthy food and portions.

Yesterday was a date day, and we went out for Mexican food. I decided to go with the approach that I wasn't going to pig out but neither was I going to order the smallest salad on the menu. I ended up having a flauta, an enchillada and rice. And for dessert, hubby and I split a Blizzard (did you know that a regular size blizzard of most flavors are around 800 calories!! How crazy is that?! I love them, though, so I figured 1/2 a blizzard is a decent compromise. We rented Disturbia and I biked through the whole thing, burning off 600 cals)

Here's the menu plan for today;

Breakfast- 1 C shreddies, flax seed and 1% milk

Lunch- Turkey sandwich on wholegrain, pickles, carrot slices

Supper- Turkey and mixed veg with sesame ginger sauce (I cooked a turkey a few days ago and have lots of leftovers)

Jenn, that's awesome!! It must've felt great to see your hard work pay off! I can't wait to check in later to see how everyone else is doing!

I also wanted to ask anyone of they have any good tips on exercise, eating healthy, getting past a craving, etc, etc. My latest favorite discovery is Dempsters Body Wise bread- only 90 calories for 2 slices and it comes in white, whole wheat and multigrain. The slices are thin and a little bit smaller than a regular loaf but at half the cal count, who cares!!! (I think it might only be available in the Maritimes, but Weight Watchers bread might be similar for the cal count- not sure on that though)

Way to go Steph!!! Yay...I know it may be discouraging to only see a pound or 2 off the scale but you are tiny!!! So its probably harder for you to lose.  I know I have a good 10 lbs that needs to come off of me....

I can't believe a blizzard has that many calories...yikes, good thing I can't really eat ice cream :)

B: Yogurt, almonds (slept in this morning)

S: Carrots

L: Ham sandwich with lf mozz and 12 grain bread

S: Carrots

D: Slow cooker beef stew :) YUM

where I'm at:

5'4"

cw: 129 (down 1 lb)

at least I think I'm down 1 lb.  i have a really awful scale that gives me 2-3 lb differences within minutes, so I usually just take the lowest number Wink

Breakfast - cinnamon oatmeal

Lunch - grilled vegetable focaccia sandwich

plans for the rest of the day:

snack - vegetable soup

running 40 min

dinner - 3 bean chili w/ brown rice, salad

snack - baby carrot

general tips & tricks i follow:

food:

- when I indulge, i take tiny tiny bites so I get the flavor and more bites!
- sometimes I make open face sandwiches to save the 100 cals on that slice of bread.
- lots of soup and tea.

exercise:

- sometimes when i dont feel like going outside or to the gym, i just turn some lively music on and jump/dance around.
- oh! I found these podcasts on itunes on fitness and yoga.  I mostly use the yoga ones because it's hard for me to find the patience to hold poses without somebody telling me to.  My favorites are "90 minutes of Yoga with Wade" and "Yoga to the People - 60 min power flow"

yoga junkies, try out the podcasts and tell me what you think!

last week: 138
This week: 137.5

Not much of a difference, but I'll take it :)

I'm with you girls...as long as the number's not going up, it's good! Ha, before I weigh myself in the morning (because it's when you weight the least), I use the washroom and weigh myself just wearing my underwear- if I thought it'd make a difference to take my earrings out I probably would! hehe

opalaurora- I love doing the dancing to music thing as well- I'm a terrible dancer with crazy moves but it's fun and makes my kids laugh and move with me. Another thing I do to get moving sometimes is to play indoor tag with the kids. I don't last for very long because they have infinitely way more energy that I and could play for hours- I'm beat after 10 minutes. It's a good way to get the heart rate up and break a sweat without making it seem like work!

Yay for everyone....you all did great!  I was 137.0 this morning.  I didn't measure again.  Since my weight fluctuates quite a bit, I don't know if I can count it as a loss...

here's my day today:

breakfast: bran flakes w/1% milk & raisins, green tea
snack: grapes
lunch: mexican black bean soup and yogurt
snack: mini eggs
dinner: chicken breast, stir fry veggies and a piece of toast w/honey
snack: chocolate

no exercise today...

Hi Ladies,

I had a bad night last night.  I was home alone while my fiance was at work and I was tired and just felt like being lazy...since we didn't have much in the house I decided to binge on toast and pb and cheese whiz.......disgusting I know!!! Anyway, I'm just going to move on and forget it even happened.....I still saw a .5 loss this morning from y'day ...who would have thought.

B: Special K Bar, Yogurt

S: Cheese and Crackers Handypack (I need to get groceries)

L: Left over slow cooker beef stew

S: 1/3 bag popcorn

D: Undecided.

I'm going to do my turbo jam tape tonight and of course my walk to work and home is enough of a work out...I have a huge hill I have to climb home everyday ...

Good luck :)

I feel awful today, super bloated...must have something to do with my binge on toast last night!

ugh, sucks about your binge, but good job getting right back on track!
next time you're about to binge, remember how awful the bloating feels.  (easier said than done, i know...)

I didn't quite follow the rest of my meal plan for yesterday.  I have a lot of trouble with that.  I had a muffin for dessert/snack instead of carrots.  Baked goods are my downfall and muffins are probably the worst for me both in terms of cravings and nutrition, hah.

Today so far:

breakfast - apple, plain bagel

lunch - 5 pieces of popcorn chicken, 1 slice of wheat bread w/ a bit of PB, apple, salad w/ corn & salsa, multigrain bread

plan for dinner - turkey sandwich on multigrain bread, banana

late snack - 1 c chicken noodle soup

no workout today.

oh, I did bad last night and today. Last night after I got the kids into bed I snacked on chips. Today I told myself that it was time to get back on track and did well with breakfast and lunch (my regular cereal and veggies with turkey for lunch). Then after playing outside with the kids I was so snacky feeling, that I reached for the chips again but then my sweet tooth kicked in and I had a passion flakie (310 cals!!). Then I had 2 mini Mr Big choc bars. And now on the other side of my mini binge I feel blahhh.

Gas and yuck and darn!!

~sigh~ at least tomorrows another day

and I didn't work out today either, maybe tonight?...(later and tomorrow- a dieters/procrastinators staple)

Must be something in the air......

I just got home from work and almost went and got wendy's!!!!! Chris (my fiance) is working until 10 which means disaster for me  :(  Why do I feel like giving up all of a sudden??

I feel like CRAP

Jenn, so, did you have Wendy's?  Or did you make another choice?

Here is my confession: I had 1/2 bag of mini eggs today - which is like 2 servings, almost 400 calories worth - i just kept grabbing one, popping it in my mouth, open desk drawer and pop another in my mouth...and so on... :(  talk about feeling like C-RAP!

otherwise:
breakfast: bran flakes w/1%milk & raisins
snack: mini eggs (see above)
lunch: chicken breast w/stir fry veggies
snack: apple
dinner: steamed beans & carrots, ww wrap w/chicken, light cream cheese & salsa, 1 arrowroot cookie
snack: grapes & 1/2 cinamon toast crunch

and a semi-good workout - elliptical (25 min) and 35 min weight training

We're not giving up...come on ladies...let's get back on track.

I did unfortunately go for the Wendy's but I didn't eat anything else last night which is suprising!  So I had fries, 5 piece nuggets and half a regular soda :(

Still don't feel great, so hoping today is better!

B: Activia Yogurt, grapes

S: 100 cal pack of crispy mini's

L: light n' lean ham sandwich on 12 grain bread with lf swiss, carrots

S: Banana, hand full of almonds

D:

Not that I'm glad that you guys are struggling too, but it helps to know that I'm not the only one! Sooo, with our splurges behind us, the only way to go now is forward! I think that I do the best when I post on here what I plan on eating even before I eat it because I feel more accountable (if I said it I'd better do it 'cause otherwise tomorrow I'll feel the need to fess up)

B- shreddies, 1% milk, and flaxseed

snack- 1C low cal popcorn

L- 1C homemade chili, 15 Tostitos rounds

Supper- veggies and turkey

snack- fat free choc pudding

This morning I forced myself into doing my core workout, and I'm going to bike 300 cals off this evening.

Weighing myself this morning...not good. I'm back to my beginning weight :(

The good news is that it only makes me more determined to lose it!!

You are right Steph!! Onward :)  Does anyone else watch the Biggest Loser??? Love that show, it was really good last night.

I just bought this book "The Body Sculpting Bible Swimsuit Workout: Women's Edition" from Amazon...should be here tomorrow or next week (with the holidays).  I'll let you know how it is once I start using it :)

I would like to watch that show but I only have country cable (Global and CTV. Technically you could count CBC as well...the gov can make me pay for it but they can't make me watch it!!)

Sounds like a good book Jenn,  I'm always looking for anything that might help!

Today has worked out really well (hooray!), I stuck to the food and activity schedule that I laid out and have 400 cals of surplus that I don't yet know what to do with. I'm thinking that because I went over yesterday I should maybe be a little under today. We'll see. I might have a piece of ww toast with PB later.

Keep on keeping on!

- yumyum76, I can so relate to the mini eggs episode. We do an Easter egg hunt every year and have stocked up on all of those yummy mini eggs, like caramilks, crunchies, lyndts, reeses, etc. The only thing that has been my saving grace so far is the fact that the packages are sealed, but as soon as I open them to fill those plastic eggs it's going to get ugly. Heyyy...maybe I should ask hubby to take care of it this year!

i just mini-binged Embarassed  it wasnt too bad (not much food and not that many calories) but i definitely had one of those moments where I completely lost control and my body ate for no reason while my mind just shut down or something.

so here's how my day went.

breakfast - odwalla protein bar, coffee, small banana

lunch - chicken vegetable soup, small banana, half cup of kashi flakes, 1 cup of cheerios

snack - banana

dinner - 6oz pork, 1c white rice, grilled vegetables

snack - 1 c total cereal

late night mini-binge - 1 c hot cocoa, 2 tbsp hot cocoa powder, 1/2 pack of dry plain oatmeal

gosh, some of the weird things I eat when I binge are so embarrassing...  thankfully after the dry oatmeal, my brain took over again, and I popped a cough drop in my mouth to stop myself from eating more.

Don't worry opalaurora, it was a very small binge! Just move on and keep on trucking..

I ended up having 1 slice of 12 grain bread topped with tuna and lf mozz cheeze toasted in the oven with 1 cup white rice with green onions, garlic and mushrooms for dinner last night.  I was out visiting nephews the rest of the night so didn't snack :)

B: Activia yogurt, banana

S: 100 cal pack of some type of cinnamon rice cakes

L: Pizza (boss is buying, so can't say no)

S: Almonds

D: ???

LOTS of freezing rain here this morning..almost broke my neck walking to work!
