Wow  what a morning :)  239.2 on the scale  that officially puts me at the 1/2 way mark !!!

What a strange and wonderful journey this has been.

I do not know what my starting weight really was as I could not weigh on the scale.. I just know that after a couple of months I hit 330 and was like YESSS now I can track it.   and I have tracked it ever since.

So now I am 9.2 away from 100 pounds lost and 89.2 away from my goal weight.  I know that if I had tried to tackle this looking at the end game from the start it would not have happened.   I had to slow it down.. get rid of the the "right now" thinking and just take things a day at a time.

I would start to get discouraged when my weight would stall or it would go up for no reason I could detect.   But I couldn't allow myself to keep it like that.  I had to really understand deep down that life happens , there will be ups and downs.. I can't blame anyone or anything for this.  Its just the way it is.. BUT if I stayed true to what I wanted and where I wanted to be then it would work out.. and so far that has been true.

It has not been an easy road.  There were times I was sorely tempted to stray,  sometimes I stayed true and resisted the temptation and sometimes I did not resist.  BUT I always said to myself.. if you have this are you prepared for the consequences?  and I did face the consequences.. and found out I was human after all !!  is it worth it to cheat?  yes every now and then it is.. but I don't do it often thankfully

I don't consider myself to be on a diet.  I changed the way that I eat food.  Changed the foods I eat.. heck I even managed to change a comfort food into black beans lol.  Do I miss being able to eat what I want when I want in whatever quantities I want?  no.. not really.. every now and then I really want something I know will have consequences.. and IF I am prepared to face the consequences I eat it... mostly I don't I find something else.  Right now my BIG BIG treat is a hand full of flavored mini rice cakes..  every month or so I will have some.  It can be triggering so I watch my reaction and gauge.

I met Peanut butter half way.. I eat sugar free sodium free smooth PB on celery once a day.. it is almost a desert lol

One thing I need to work on is my exercise I have sorely neglected it and I need to get back into the swing of it .

My son 22 said to me that he is very proud of me and that he knew I could do it and that I looked like a million dollars.. That was worth it all !!!!

AAAWWW!  That was so sweet of him to say and you are so right, that is the best compliment you could have ever received.

Well done, you really hit the headlines!! You deserve your success, your right life is a journey, not a destination, enjoy each day. I say if you WANT it have but be prepared to pay the price, mostly you dont need it and if we try we can find an alternative, I love peanut butter but hate celery, but I may try your treat its sounds yummy.

Keep at it, we can all look forward to the 'party' we will have when you get 3/4 the way too!

love Christine

Smile What an inspiration you are!  You are certainly what I needed to hear first thing Monday morning, thank you, thank you, thank you!  Good luck on your continued success, I'm rooting for you!

Congratulations and all the best to you Laughing

Wow, what an achievement; I lost only 22 pounds with around 15 more to go and it has been a struggle... Congratulations on your success and be proud of yourself - not too many people have the will power to do what you did.

CONGRATULATIONS. WHAT A WONDERFUL ACCOMPLISHMENT. YOUR SON SOUNDS LIKE A FINE PERSON. THAT WAS A VERY NICE COMPLIMENT HE GAVE YOU. I LOST 109LBS AND HAVE MAINTAINED FOR TWO YEARS. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT FEELING LARGER THAN YOU REALLY ARE. I STILL GET AN UPTIGHT FEELING WHEN I TRY ON CLOTHES EVEN THOUGH I AM SO MUCH SMALLER NOW. DIETED MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS AND ALWAYS KEPT SOME FAT CLOTHES. THIS TIME I GOT RID OF EVERYTHING. I FINALLY LEARNED THAT EATING RIGHT IS FOR LIFE AND NOT JUST UNTIL YOU REACH THE GOAL YOU SET. WHEN I FIRST STARTED OUT I USED A WALKER. AFTER LOSING ABOUT 35LBS I TOSSED IT INTO THE GARAGE AND THANK GOD HAVE NOT NEEDED IT SINCE. DO THAT EXERCISE. IT MAKES YOU HEALTHY. YOU NEED TO MOVE YOUR BODY. WALK AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. CONTINUED SUCCESS. IF YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
