There is some good information on WebMD waiting for you.
Couldn't help thinking this sounds like Pimms but without the alcohol. Sounds refreshing though.
I started the Flat Belly Diet yesterday morning. This morning I had lost 3 pounds. I spent lots of time in the bathroom yesterday!
How long do you stay on this rigid diet? What comes next?
I started the Flat Belly diet and am going into my 4th day. I am amazed at the swelling that has gone from my legs, even after working a 12 day! I thought the sassy water might have something to do with it and my thinking was confirmed by this forum, yeah! I may just have to keep drinking this stuff! More healthy than taking pills!
The rigid part of the diet is 4 days and then you go into 28 days of the regular Flat Belly diet.
The rigid diet is only for 4 days and it's not THAT bad. You can definitely tell a difference in your belly size. After that it's just regular flatbelly diet foods. The recipes in the book are really good too. Last night we ate Lime Marinated Chicken with Salsa which was delicious and the rest of my family enjoyed it too. Tomorrow night we are having Grilled Balsamic Flank Steak. It does take some time to plan out menus and if you work, to pack your lunch and breakfast for the day. I've been on it a week, and I find that I'm really NEVER hungry anymore. The meals are very satisfying. I think I read in the above posts that the diet is a fad or unhealthy because they don't focus on exercise. That is not the case, they actually have a chapter on exercise and some work out programs. They do say that you don't HAVE to exercise in order to lose weight, but they emphasize that it's healthier if you do and you will lose the weight faster. As far as the Sassy Water is concerned, it's only for the 4 day anti bloat part of the diet. I drank it, it wasn't great but wasn't vile either. Now I just drink about 80 oz of Crystal Light Green Tea Peach Mango.
This drink is made to flush your system. Most of the weight loss is going to be water weight. My personal trainer gave me this drink because for some reason i am retaining a lot of water. She said to do it for 4 days and then let her know the results. I work out 3 times a week with a very intense workout for about an hour and half each day. I just started this drink today. It don't taste too bad. But...be sure to be where you can use the restroom several times a day. It is not a fast diet that will give you results that will last forever. If you are not eating right and exercising you will gain the water weight back. I have also consulted my doctor about why i am holding so much water. The more water i drink the more bloated i get. They are checking my thyroids and hormone levels.
I like the "Sassy Water" but, How Long do I keep the ingredients "IN" the water before making a new batch??
you just leave it in over night and strain it the next morning, drink all that water for the day and make a new batch at night, let it sit and strain in the morning again. keep repeating :)
Good morning CC people.. I bought the FBD books, and this is my first morning actually drinking the Sassy water.. I am drinking it as a way to detox to help with my bloating.. Tom Venuto is the guy I really follow and The Biggest Loser, and everything I have been reading in the FBD book, Tom Venuto & TBL, says to eat also..
I really like the Sassy Water.. At first I was a little taken back by it, but after the second glass I really enjoyed it.. :P
Now the claim on getting a flatter belly just from eating certain foods... well, exercise is still involved.. I have fallen short on my exercising and I'm getting back at it..
Well I am off for a walk.. Hope you all have a great day..

are you supposed to mash the mint, cucumber, lemon, and ginger into the water, or just let it sit there?
I use a little flax seed oil as my salad oil and it doesn't bother me at all. Flax seeds seem to be much easier for me to eat because you can sprinkle them on your cereal. I've even sprinkled them in salad and veggies wraps before with no problem.
You do not need to mash any of the ingredients prior to placing them in the water...wash all ingredients thoroughly first, then peel the cucumber and ginger. Grate the ginger and place in water jug. Slice the cucumber and lemons thinly and place in water jug. Then put in the 12 small mint leaves and all the water and let sit in fridge overnight. Straining the water in the morning is optional, but usually makes it easier to drink.
Also, apparently, the flax seed OIL is what is the most nutritious part of the seed, so while the seeds themselves make some crunch and are tasty, you really need to either grind them prior to putting them in something or use the oil since your body doesn't actually digest the seeds well enough alone to get the benefits from the oil.
This water is not only yummy, but does help with digestion AND with motivation to drink the recommended amount of water a day. The diet does not claim that this water is in any way a "quick fix" or "magic bullet"...it's simply something better you can ingest to add to healthy eating and exercise habits.
Seriously, i am on the second day off this and I think it is bloody amazing! I don't no if its just me or what, but firstly it really really does help. I hardly need to go to the bathroom which is strange because i have been drinking over two litres of this water a day, and i need to go to the toilet alot which is great because that is the beggining of weight loss! Seriously recomend it and stick to it. Stick to the recipe and don't cut the corners.
The water is not what causes you to lose weight...It's more like a boost to the diet and an alternative for those who hate water...I cant stand the taste of regular water so Sassy water keeps me hydrated
