Let's be sexy-somethings by Halloween!
I just happen to be turning 21 at midnight on Halloween so I always like to ring in my birthday by feeling good in a Halloween costume, and this year I have a goal.
I want to be able to wear one of those sexy costumes-in-a-bag lol. I've never been able to do that because I've spent most of my Halloweens overweight.
Halloween 2007 - 230 pounds
Halloween 2008 - 220 pounds
Halloween 2009 - 200 pounds
Halloween 2010 - GOAL: 173 pounds
So I have a little under 20 pounds to go to get there, and I believe it's 11 weeks away! The reason my goal is so steep is because I've gained 10 of those pounds within the last two months or so, and I'm still hoping some of them will come off fairly quickly with a little extra hard work.

I probably burn an extra 100 calories or so during the day because of how many trips I take to the bathroom lol. But I love drinking a ton of water, it gets me moving around every 25 minutes or so and keeps my skin lovely and clear :)
My weekend was nice and relaxing, but I went out to a party on Saturday night and we ended up getting a slice of pizza at 1:30am downtown lol, the pizza didn't end up in my food log, basically just moving past it and not stressing over it haha. I haven't had pizza in FOREVER, so it was nice to eat something really different.
I left my scale at my boyfriend's place intentionally, so that I don't weigh until Friday morning. Kinda nervous about that, but I'm slowly trying to become a once-a-week-weigher after 3 years of weighing everyday.
Last week I weighed in at 180.8 so this Friday I'm aiming for 178.8 or at least something in the 170s :)
My plan to get there:
- drink lots of water all week
- get an A at least 3 days on my own grading system
- go to Body Attack on Monday
- regular gym workout Tuesday
- yoga and gym workout Wednesday
- run OR gym workout Thursday
Oh man! I started my period early, and that combined with being hungover on Saturday, and after going to Hempfest here in Seattle yesterday (make your own assumptions, hahaha), means that on Friday I had 2047 calories, Saturday had 2070 calories, and yesterday (thanks to these 10 small cookies that ended up being 80 calories each, wtf?!) I had 2289 calories. Yesterday I also walked 18,000 steps, but STILL!
So yeah, feeling kinda gross :-/ and that plus being on my period has left me heavier than my previous weigh in, and I'm just hoping that it's not a weight gain, and just period weight (the difference is 162.4 versus 163.8) GAHHHHHHHHHHHH! Gotta tone it down, especially since I'm going to a soccer game on Wednesday, which means garlic fries and beer, which will be around 1000 cals! :)
well guys I am back from my camping trip...
Ahhhhh, guys, believe me when I say that it is sooo hard to behave during an all-girls camping trip! I didn't do too bad, but I know I ate over my calorie goal range. But I also didn't binge my frigging face off or anything haha. I'm really hoping I can still get down to at least 128lbs by friday... I have 4 days...
Time for me to start working out! I'm exhausted right now from this weekend, and working out today is the absolute last thing I want to think about! However, I think I am going to have to do something later on today. I plan on working out every single day from now until Friday.
I will definately be consuming 1300 cals today, and my plan is not to eat more than 1300 cals for the whole rest of the week, ideally!
I hate weekends right now. I think they are out to get me.

THIS IS PERFECT!!! Halloween weekend was already my goal b/c I leave on a cruise to Mexico with my friends on the 28th!!! I'll be a week behind everyone with my weigh in.. but I still wanna play!! And... I usually weigh on Monday mornings... so I'll just post those dates! :)

I know that feeling too! Even when I think I'm having a good weekend I still come back to Monday am weigh in up a few lbs! Grr!!! (But for some reason this week -today- I managed to get back down to "normal" thank god.. now the rest of the week is new territory again!!)

yeah I can relate. I'm not even going to POST what my Monday weigh-in looked like! I just try to think about how it doesn't count, I also think most of the time it's usually majority water weight. Cause' it comes off within a day or two. "Real" weight would never come off that quickly! It's definately a bit discouraging though.
Laura- I think I am going to adopt your "weekly weigh-in" mentality. I just find the fluctuations of daily weigh-ins too stressful. They play on my emotions too much, and, like many of you, I am an emotional eater. I think I may have to pick up "The End of Overeating" because it seems pretty interesting from what you have posted on here about it. Is it an easy read?
unhappygirl - yes it's an easy read, but there's a chapter that goes into a lot of scientific studies, the concepts are simply, like explaining circumstances where rats always choose sugar water rather than regular water, etc etc etc. It can get a bit lengthy in that department, but the concepts are quite simple :)
As for the weekly weigh ins...I found I was doing some very interesting things.
When I'd have a REALLY good weigh in, I'd either be like: "booyah I have this whole weight loss thing in the bag, I can eat something yummsies!"
OR I'd be like: "I don't wanna screw this up so I'm not going to eat much for lunch and workout like crazy, but then get really hungry at night and eat more than I planned"
And then if I had a bad weigh in I'd either be like: "well screw it then, if I'm gonna eat well and workout and GAIN then what's the point, may as well GAIN because I ate some deliciously bad food and skipped a workout!"
OR I'd be like: "uh oh I better be extra good to make sure I see something good tomorrow"
It's EXHAUSTING to constantly base what you're going to do for that day on what the scale said in the morning. And I never really saw HUGE changes, I'm not one of those people who is up 3 pounds one day and down 3 pounds the next so I didn't have to worry about those big changes, but I just found I was eating/working out BASED ON what the scale said, not just trying to be good in general.
Now I'm more focused on making each day as good as I can so that when I put them all together it's bound to equal something good on the scale. However if my Friday weigh in isn't exactly what I want it to be...I still know that there could be water weight or muscle weight or sodium bloat, etc. depending on what's been going on lately.
It really did take me AWHILE to learn to not weigh everyday. This is something I've been working on for months now, and I'm still at the point where I have to hide my scale, but I'm hoping that weighing in weekly will become a habit and I can gradually bring the scale back without worrying that my feet will find it.

And laurakelly, usually I DO have like 8 pound jumps (well, more around 6ish), so HOPEFULLY this means that when I hop on the scale after TOM, I'll see a nice 161 or something :)
Does anyone know of a good scale that accurately measures ounces? I have one that tells me pounds and half-pounds. For example, I am either 158 or 158.5 - when I could be 158.3 or whatever. I could use a new scale and would love your recommendations!

LK and Tawns - I know its just myself really. I need to learn more self control on the weekends. I'm very tired of ruining all my hard work of five days in just two. But at least I'm back down to 178 today... one more pound (and hopefully tons of water will take care of that) to be back to Fridays weigh in. Then I gotta bust my ghetto booty to get down even more than that. And I HAVE to behave this weekend! I just HAVE to!
April - I bought a fairly cheap on at WalMart for about $20. It measures every .2 which is cool with me.
I bought my scale at Walmart too...it's the ghettoest thing, just plain white, big it's digital thank god (that's a MUST) and measures every 0.2 so that's perfect for me.
I really don't need to know if I'm 180.8 or 180.9, but I'd definitely be interested in seeing more than the 0.5s your scale gives you, I would definitely get something more accurate for my own sanity :)
