Short girls (5'4" and under) with a significant amount of weight to lose! (40+)
Hey everyone,
I'm 5'0" and I currently weigh 175. I know there is another short girls thread, but most of them seem to already weigh 120.
So anyway, I need some big time motivation. Weekly weigh ins, advice, encouragement, etc....and I'm betting that some of you out there could do the same.
So how about it?

Lynners- where in Ontario are you? I am north of Brampton, pretty rural...
So, confession, did not do aerobics workout at all this week, very exhausted cannot keep up with the kids, the house and the new eating...eating going well, kids okay (lol) house a wreck and no exercise except housecleaning and shoveling snow! Oh well, one step at a time...
V- nice ideas for food, thanks for doing the detailed list. I got a few new ideas!
I'm in Guelph...went to the University here. :)
Moving to Barrie pretty soon for more school though, I think.
Thanks V for all the great ideas I printed them out :)
Ran outside today I swear we have too many hills total route was 5.25km. Leaving NROLFW to restart on Tuesday. Have my granddaughters 1 year old birthday tomorrow with a bunch of strange people please oh please give me the strength to not eat to ease the uneasiness of all the strange people.
Hang in there everyone :)

I'm 5" and strated at 186. I'm now at 169 and counting...I'd like to weigh 130...but...we'll see. I'm sick of the BMI calculators going after me just because I'm short. It makes me want to buy high heels and permenantly staple them to my feet. I'm glad I'm not alone!!
Hi i'm 5'3 and 164 (lost a lb!) and i'm trying to be atleast 125 lbs! I hope I can join i'll update everything week or 2 weeks or so. :DD
Hey lynners....I went to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, it was actually attached to our hotel! It was pretty cool....the only time we had to go outside was to walk over to Planet Hollywood for dinner (which sucked and was expensive). Great Wolf Lodge is near Niagara Falls, but not as close as Fallsview. Apparently, the Fallsview park is the largest indoor waterpark in North America....I thought for sure the one in West Ed Mall would have been bigger....oh well. Fun times were had! I won $150 at the casino! Woo!! I spent a good deal of that on alcohol though lol Hope everyone had a good weekend!
i have go lean oatmeal by kashi and sometimes eat there cereal with soymilk. if i decide to eat rice or something i cook for my family i eat small parts with broccoli for the veggie. i cheated fri i had 2 beers . didnt bother the weight. need to get walking if the rain quits and the weather gets warmer.

Hey ladies just a blurb I got from a daily email I get thought it would be inspirational for everyone.
Be Proud of Any Success!
There's no such thing as mindless weight loss. You can't sleep off the pounds or take a miracle pill that burns fat. Losing weight is about making the right choices, every single day, in a variety of different situations. But even if you see the pounds coming off slowly, that doesn't mean you should throw in the towel. As one teammate explains, this journey may be slow going sometimes, but every milestone counts!
"Many of us are losing between one and two pounds, and we all sound the same... just one pound but its okay since I'm heading in the right direction, wish it were more, only 2, etc. What I want to say is that the one and two pound losses are AWESOME!!! They are not something to just 'accept' or 'wish that it were better... Slow and steady wins this race people! And we need to be HAPPY with those 1 and 2 pound losses... no not just happy, but HAPPY!!I think when we see those HUGE losses on The Biggest Loser, we think that we should be pulling bigger numbers ourselves, but NONE of us are able to work out, sleep, eat, work out, eat, sleep, and work out some more. We are living in the real world with families, jobs, and activities. It is not an excuse! But getting one really good workout in per day, eating healthy, and working at obtaining a doable calorie deficit that you can be happy with and make a new healthy habit, is something to be proud of... remember, a 1,000 calorie deficit each day for one week equals 2 pounds and the end of the week. So those 1 and 2 pounders have to be celebrated. I am guilty of it myself... 'just 1 lb, but I at least it is in the right direction'... instead it should be 'YIPPY!! I lost ANOTHER pound this week!!'
A half pound, 1 lb, 2 lbs are success, and so anyone who achieves these smaller losses in a weeks time are successful too! I just want us to celebrate being a success — no matter how small the loss may be.
So CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who lost pounds this week... keep up the good work and pat yourself on the back — yes, even if it were a pound, do it! Pat yourself on the back and tell yourself that YOU are a success!!" –fit4deb

thanks for that Nanette! I really needed it. Have a good one!
Great post, Nanette. :)

I try so hard to remind myself of that each week when I stand on those scales. Intellectually, I tell myself, "it took years to put on" blah, blah, blah...but, that doesn't stop me from wanting to see a miracle. I guess we really are the instant gratification generation!!! ![]()
Still...5 1/2 lbs for January (my first month back to eating right)...is a good start. Only 63 lbs left to go!
Hello All,
I am 5ft. That's it no inches and I weigh as of last Friday 187. So far for the year I have lost 9 pounds. I am so glad to have found this group. I have been on site for a couple of weeks now. I love this site it makes calorie counting so easy, but I have to admit it was getting a bit frustrating looking through the forums. I would start reading a post and then it would say something like someone 5'5" that weighs 130 and is trying to loose 10 pounds. Or even on today I read for someone the is 5 same height as me that weighs 97 pounds and is trying to loose weight. I know everyone has their own cross to bear but I am looking to loose at least 50 pounds and it gets kinda depressing after a while when I see post after post of people at my goal weight and lower freaking out about loosing 10+ pounds.
Now that I got that out of the way. On Christmas Day I stepped on the scale and it was the biggest number I had ever seen. I started working on loosing weight right after the first of the year. The bad part is I know what need to be done, I just have to do it. I for the last year have been doing a half A$# job. I was going to the gym at least 2-3 times a week, but not really pushing myself. I was also thought I was eating okay, but once I started writing everything down I realized I had been consuming way too may calories, too much wine, and on weekends well, that is a total different story all together.
So now I am here and doing a pretty good job. I have been working out 5-6 days a week for 90+ minutes and yoga one day a week. I know 90 seems like a lot but I have been splitting it up between 2-3 workouts a day. Before work (sometimes), during lunch and in the evenings even if it is just walking the dogs. I am also eating about 1700 calories a day. Now that I have writting a book I wish everyone luck. I look forward to being apart of this group.
Welcome to the group rbbeachick we weight in every Wednesday :)
Nanette
Morning, hope everyone is well!
Last Week: 161.8
This Week: 161.0
Those 150's are getting closer but its agonisingly slow! Stepped on the scale 3 times, first time 161.0, second time 160.8 and third time which was going to be the deciding time 161.0....bleaugh lol. 160.8 would have been a full lb but its not like .2 makes much of a difference!
Pbear that post about small losses is what I keep telling myself all the time! I would love to lose 2lb a week or more instead of around 1lb a week but at the moment I'm just glad that the scale has been consistently moving every week, specially after my plateau before christmas. If I can continue losing roughly 1lb a week I'll be happy :)

While it's a loss from last wednesday, I was down to 154.2 Saturday morning before I went away. I haven't been working out as much this week, because I had to switch up my schedule at work (although I did shovel last night). So I've been on this site for a month now and have lost exactly 5lbs....I kinda wish I'd lost more, but at the same time I like to think that if it's coming off at that rate, I'll actually have a better chance of keeping it off for good.
Good luck everyone!

What can I say? Nothing. It was Super Bowl Sunday and I had pizza and guacamole. I sound like a broken record, but I'll keep on trying. Yikes.
I hope everyone has a great week and good luck with the weigh in.

I wish it was more, but I'm happy with a loss. My birthday was last week and I did have some cake and went out to eat, so it could have been much worse!
LW: 187.4
TW: 188
I didn't weigh my self until after my morning work out. My last weigh in was on Friday. So hopefully I will do better next week. I will be in Hawaii, but I plan on maintaining the current amount of exercise and daily calorie intake. Okay maybe not on Sunday going to the pro-bowl, but other than that I will be cooking and taking lunches for the day.
