I'm Sara. I know there's a bunch of "short girls" clubs but I can never seem to find one that fits. It's always "5'4" and under with a lot to lose (40+)" or something too specific, so I decided to create my own group! This is for shorties (like, true, honest, really-freaking-short people... 5'3" and under please) to vent, trade advice, or just chat. Here are my stats:
It amazes me how people so close in height can have such different goals and plans, so I'd really like to share.
Our weigh-ins are every Wednesday morning, if you would like to participate in that. The scale isn't everything, though!

hey ladies...talk about diet disaster...ive spent the last 2 days at hubby's grandma's house and there are more treats there than i care to think. we are now headed to my dad's for the next 2 days. no exercise yet, i think i will go in the basement and do a 30 minute workout or something because sitting in a car for 9 hours is not figure friendly...not when theres chocolate, chips, candy, and loads of food for me to eat. boo.
sara...what are bon bons?? youre doing great...you want to do those things but youre not doing it. more than i can say. haha
Oh, grammy's homes!!! My grammy used to keep all manner of hard candies in glass cages, that unfortunately, were easy to open....I loved her scotch mints!
Will we grow old and keep our houses full of doilies, candies, and bake dozens of cookies and as people are visiting us, complain that no one ever stops by? Here, have another?
@bright - Good job on your workout!
@momma - Haha yeah he's really good about eating well and working out as well but our relationship started off with both of us in pretty bad shape health-wise... eating whatever we wanted whenever we wanted and rarely exercising... we've both changed significantly but it's easy to fall into old habits. :P Oh my god a chef in the family?! Rough for you haha I wouldn't be able to resist. But great job on the workout! I really would love to do yoga in the near future.
@chrissy - Oh no haha I always do horrible on trips (like Vegas, OUCH) but bonbons are like chocolate/cream filled pastries. They're actually gross hahaha I was just using them to get my point across.
@oleh - Thanks so much! Travel IS rough, if you manage to stay on track you're saintly haha so don't feel bad.
Thank you all for the well wishes and concern. On the upside I met someone! Yay! lol.. I have actually known him ten years, but lost touch when we both moved years ago, and found each other again.. He is very sweet, but we are taking it slooooowww. Just going with the flow, but I definitely have a crush ( Is that an appropriate word at 28? lol) First time in 3 years I have even been remotely interested in anyone so I am excited :)
Awww that's awesome! I'm happy for you. :) Keep us updated.
4ft 11 :(
hate being small grow grow
weight- 7 stone 4 :/
GW- 6 stone 11-13 or higher but be more toned and muscular :)))
any one got ideas for diet plan and exercises to tone my flabby belly welly :)))
@sara ~ That is awesome that you both kicked the old habits out together. Haha...yes a chef in the family & an Italian one at that! It is very rough!!!! Yoga is great....I love it! I try to do it every am...just 20 to 30 mins or so at least. But it also has a special connection for me since my birth mother is a yoga instructor.
@erica ~ Haha....a crush at 28 is absolutely appropriate! It is how it all begins....got to have a 'crush' or 'spark' however you want to describe it to build on. That is wonderful and so very exciting!!! Yeah!
@tess - Google "BMR under 21" because you're so young that Calorie Count's calculators are not meant to be used by you. You should be eating much more than us. Are you doing any exercise? And can you translate stones to lbs? I don't know what stones are. :/
@momma - Oh that's so cool! I have some free Bikram passes I intend to use when I get back to school, and I'd like to take some of the free regular yoga classes at my school as well!
MOMMA: Thank you.. lol.. I am hoping to go slow and build something substantial as is he.. I think it is a plus that we started as friends though.. :)
Sara: 7 stones 4 is 102 lbs I think :)
Happy Tuesday, Everyone! I won't be here for Wed weigh in (yeah, vacation!) so I figured I'd just do it today
@erica- I'm newer here so I wanted to say "Hi" and add my two cents that a crush is absolutely appropriate and awesome and a great motivator!
Also, just wanted to update that I bought running shoes, awesome pink shorts and made myself a workout playlist...and managed to do 1.5 miles on the treadmill at 3.0 yesterday! Only about 35 minutes or so, but it felt so good to exercise. Unfortunately, my weight today does NOT reflect that but it's my totm so I will ignore it lol
Hope everyone has a wonderful week! Anna
@sara ~ Very nice! Do take the classes....just know that with yoga you shouldn't push yourself too much....listen to your body and in time you will become more flexible and stronger in the moves.
@erica ~ Slow it good....and yes, being friends first is a big plus!
Booger! Lost nada....and I've been working my tail off!!! Oh well, my measurements were good tough. Lost an inch on my belly (my trouble area), 3/4 inch on my hips and toned up in my arms etc. So, I have something to be happy about!! Today is a short run and then abs....I hope everyone is doing well this am.
@Erica - Thanks haha I don't think she needs to lose weight then.
@IApologize - Great workout!!
@Momma - I remember the first Bikram class was SO HARD but awesome, and by the 4th time I went I was stronger and more flexible, but I had to stop after that because of budget/schedule issues (Bikram is off campus so it's not a free class, it's run by someone completely unrelated to school) Great job on the loss of inches!!
WOOOOOOO omg guys I've never been this close to goal! This 1500 calories a day is just working for me, I can't say anything else about it because that just seems to be the answer for me! I didn't even poop this morning! I am so happy!
sara ~ Hahaha....the whole poop comment gave me a good laugh! Congratulations!!!! Sooooo very close!
ahaha i totally relate to that poop comment! always a good sign lmao.
hope everyone else is doing well. it's a beautiful morning in NY - warm and sunny but no humidity. good energy.

wooo. i had a really successful weekend - that's the key for me. i didn't have the greatest workouts but i made sure my eating/drinking was on point. i consider it a win if on monday/tues i'm the same weight as the friday before. i'm pretty pumped to be within reasonable distance of my next goal. yay!
Congrats ladies! Unfortunately I am stuck...
I think I have too much stuff going on in my life! I need to focus on this weight loss. At the moment we're remodeling our living room so I was helping do that all day yesterday. The guys were like "Oh, we're getting pizza for dinner. Want some?" How could I say no?! Ugh. Also, I haven't got my period yet this month, but the pregnancy tests say negative, I'm getting freaked out! I can't wait to go back to work where my schedule is consistent...never thought I'd say that! I hate being a whiner! I feel like if Jillian Michael's were here, she'd be like quit making excuses. lol Well, off to the gym I go. Have a good day ladies!
It has been a month since I started Turbo Jam and I have lost approximately 4 lbs. I went from 119 to 115. I'm quite proud of myself. I just upgraded to Turbo Fire so I'm hoping for a greater calorie burn and some ass kicking! I did my first workout last night and spent half the time rewinding and replaying the video to learn the moves. Despite the setback I managed to burn 314 cals. Not bad for a first timer.
Good moooooorning ladies!!!! Sara!!!! how exciting!
Morning you all.. UPDATE ON GRANDFATHER: They gave him a letter board to communicate with. Can you guess his first question? It was "Did you pay the bills?" lol.. Second question was to ask again where he was and what happened. They are going to place a trachea in his throat to run his respiration tube through so that it isn't so hard on his throat and mouth. He will, after that, be getting a "G" tube to feed him.. They also found he has an enlarged heart so they are checking on that!
iapologizenow: Nice to meet you and thank you :)
Sara: You are welcome.
Wednesday Weigh in results:
SW: 148.0 (3/11/2011

I am David Ross here.... I am happy here.... and for you.....
I decided to take my rest day today. I'm not in the mood to exercise. One of those 'lazy' days.
Here are some pictures showing my progress since June:
I didn't start Turbo Jam until July 6.
@momma - Haha well you know it's true! And thanks!
@call_me_ktb - Haha yes, and you're so lucky you didn't have humidity yesterday. Humidity is a STAPLE of STL weather, it's horrible. Congrats on your loss!!
@adiamond - It's okay, keep on truckin'!
@cottonay - Good job!
@brightmoments - Yayy 1.5 lbs is great!
@erica - Aww he sounds sweet. I hope he's feeling better! Wow great job on the weight loss on top of everything going on!
Sorry I've been MIA, bf is in town so I try to keep it brief haha.
