simple question?

On my i phone app at the top of analysis page it has 'food' 'activities' 'total' and 'remaining' ...... Stupid question but what does the remaining mean?

Say for example your calorie goal is 2000 to maintain, so far you've eaten 1000, the "remaining" is 1000.

Ok that's what I thought but it's kinda confusing (to me anyway!) So the other day my food=1385, activity=989, total=396, remaining= 1154. I have my calories set at 1550. I am trying to lose weight, surely if I ate another 1154 calories I would be at maintenance, not have a deficit? Is the number in the 'remaining' box supposed to be high? Low? Is it relevant if your trying to lose?
Bumping cause I still need help!!

It looks like your activity is added onto your remaining calories for the day. If you had 0 activity, you'd have 1550-1385 calories remaining (165). But since you have 989 extra calories burned, your remaining is 165 + 989 to make up for the huge deficit you'd have otherwise.

Ok I am still confused... (thank you for trying to explain though). So is having a remaining number a good thing or not? I am still trying to lose 2 kg.
