What size is it when your thighs stop rubbing together?

Quote  |  Reply

I am tired of it! All my life my thighs have rubbed. I know I need to lose weight, 40-50 pounds worth, but not a clear goal.

What size did your thighs quit rubbing together?

Well, I wear size 26 (or 0-1) and my thighs still rub. Good luck.

I hate it  when my thighs rubb toghether... and I remember having this problem since my childhood, i remember being sore from  the friction of my thighs with salt water at the beach....

now I lost weight, im at 24 jeans size, and still having this problem.

I think its a body morphology issue

It really all depends on your body build. Some people are stick thin and still can have their thighs rub together. I believe it has to do with the width of your hips but I could be wrong. Mine stop rubbing together at a size 26 in. waist and I'm 5'4, ~105 lbs.

stand with your feet further apart.  Problem solved.

Not sure when mine stopped but they have. :)

It's more about body fat percentage than weight. The skinnier your thighs, the less they'll rub together :)

the top of your thighs might rub together even if you are thinnner, but it will touch higher up, rather then close to your knees....

I'm a UK12 and tops of my thighs still rub together a bit. Body shape has more to do with it than weight per-se. Yes they rub less than when I was a UK20 but they still rub.

 ^^ This

It would depend on the individual and where you carry most of your weight.

I'm 5'5 and when I was at 127 my thighs were around 18 inches each and they still rubbed.  Some of us they will no matter what we do.

If you have chaffing issues you could try baby powder or gold bond powder before you exercise.

As an apple-shaped woman, I never really had that problem.  Even when I was 200 pounds, my legs were good and my thighs didn't rub.  On the other hand, I'm at a higher risk for heart disease and my waist is only 5 inches thinner than my hips, which makes buying pants almost impossible.

Which is worse?  I don't know.  I guess we all have our crosses to bear.  Good luck with your weight loss, and I hope that you find a weight that achieves your goal!

well, when i was anorexic and disgustingly skinny...deathly even...they stopped touching. not worth the trade off. I'll take a little rubbage. lol. Seriously though, if you get to a healthy weight and your thighs are touching i think there are bigger things to worry about than that...your body is simply not built the way you would have it and trying to aim for that could lead to and unhealthily low weight.

Ok this is what you do.  Make a trip to your local hardware store to pick up a roll of duct tape.  Wind the duct tape around your thigh until its super tight then repeat on the second thigh.  If that doesn’t work then you’re up **** creek without a paddle.

BAHAHHA. I'll have to give this a shot ;)

To the OP: in all seriousness, you're thighs may NEVER stop rubbing. Mine rubbed when I was topping out at 135, they rubbed when I starved down to 94 and they rub now that I'm at a healthy 117(I'm 5'3" btw).

I am wondering why my nipples are rubbing on my thigh...Theres nothing I can do about though....sad to say. But I am working on the thighs....hate im not a size 1 and am blogging about it on a weight loss site................veeeerrryyy helpful!

There are a lot of thigh-rubbers on CC. Mine don't and I'm 5'6" and 125, size 7. Big hips.

I'm 5'6" and 140 lbs (jean size 28/29)- my thighs stopped touching at the top about 5 lbs ago.  I do have relatively skinny legs & a wide pelvis, though.

God I love this question!!! LOL

But I think there is a need for clarification: I don't think it's about thighs TOUCHING. They always will. And I don't even want to be that stick thin so that they don't. But RUBBING or CHAFFING thighs are a real pain! And I mean PAIN! Last time I was wearing a skirt with pantyhose my thighs rubbed so that I head bloody upper thighs for about 3 days. It was horrible and frustrating! The only thing that helped was antibiotic cream...

Now I am using chaffing cream from the drugstore BEFORE wearing a skirt and I know that once I am at a healthy weight my thighs will still TOUCH each other, but they will stop rubbing until it bleeds.

Summer here we come!
