Small Deficit??

Quote  |  Reply

Hello!!

I'm somewhat new here, and need some help figuring this out and would definetly apppreciate it!

I'm attempting to lose the last 10-15 lbs on my small frame. I am 5'2 121.5lbs and currently run about 16-20 miles per week. I just started about two weeks ago and was wondering if it would be best if i consistently had a small deficit say 300-350 a day or 500-600?

At the moment my burn rate is 1750-1800 or so with the exercise and I have an office job so pretty much sedentary besides the miles.

Also as a side note i calorie cycle as i'm currently intermittent fasting i.e. i eat the majority of my calories in the afternoon/evening but it often averages out to 1200-1400.

Any success stories and/or advice?

300-350 is best. The only problem is that a small error can wipe out your deficit.

^ This is why I have a 200-500 deficit range, I usually am about 400ish but just in case of error I rather have it 400-500 on most day and 200-300 on some. But I am on the last 5-10lbs when if and when I lose the 5lbs and could lose 0-5lbs, I may try the 200-300 deficit range and see I can still lose inches without weight or if I lose weight fine. I'll see when I get there and how my goals look, cause really inches lost and no weight lost would be better (down with BF % and not weight ;P).

Thanks guys yeah I totally agree and i think its something more manageable considering that i don't burn much as is in spite of the exercise. But i think i'll take your advice too hollowness and average it out to 400.

The first few pounds seem to be water weight though so i might have to tread lightly and be very careful.

Has anyone else had any success with a small deficit, and did anyone find that it warded off any weight loss stalls and saw consistent drops every few weeks.

I suppose i might have to weigh every couple weeks as i won't see a significant change on the scale...i'm also a female lool

I get stalls monthly no matter the deficit size because of TOM alone. And I seem to stall every 5lbs too even without TOM, no matter the deficit size again. Just the way it is :P

Haha well thanks for the forewarning! I took a glance at your profile kudos, it seems like you took and are continuing to take the approach that I seem to be on. So, perfect person for the advice!

I suppose the calorie cycling/intermittent fasting is a good combo then?

How often did you weigh urself when you first started? once every two weeks or weekly
