I like the Kashi granola bars or Luna mini bars. Other than that fruit, fruit and more fruit! If you don't need on the go/ handheld try yogurt. I like ot have fat free greek yogurt mixed with cinnamon, a bit of sugar and some fresh fruit.
I'm a huge snacker. I snack on lots of fruit - grapes, apples, oranges, bananas, watermelon, and a cup of strawberries with a teaspoon of sugar if I want something sweet. If I'm really hungry and I want something to fill me up, jerky does the trick. It's high in sodium, but I've found that it's the most filling thing for me. I also snack on string cheese :)
It's dried and preserved meat. I usually get the Jack Links brand. Teriyaki is my favorite!
Special k bars (the chocolate ones) are a yummy 80calories!
Handful of nuts/raisins.
I find a teaspoon of set honey cures my sweet carvings!! (honestly I'm like pooh bear)!!
Asparagus is in season - 2 mins zap in the microwave sprinkled with a few flakes of Parmesan!!
Cucumber chunks wrapped in ham!
Slices of pastrami!
Cold chicken breast!
Boiled egg.
Freddo chocolate bar (90cals)
I Love snacks!!!!
I have an apple everyday at work, sometimes with lunch and sometimes as a separate snack. I also like almonds (I get spicy ones and only need half a serving), a snack bar of some kind (Kind fruit and nut bars or Pure bars are my preferred ones), and maybe some soy crisps as a crunchy snack.
When I'm home I'll go less for the prepackaged and maybe slice that apple with nut butter, have a small packet of oatmeal, sliced veggies with nut butter or hummus/bean dip.
One of the most filling snacks I have ever had is a Caramel Corn Cake, Natural PB, and Sliced Banana, you can also add some chocolate nibs if you are craving chocolate. It is delicious.
My everyday snacks are any kind of fruit. Sometimes I have tablespoon of almond butter, or a bowl of cereal like Kix or Cheerios, or a Special K or Slim Fast bar.
I make sugar free jelly (jello) and set canned fruit into it. I like the orange jelly with mandarins in and I use the juice from the can and top it up with water.
I make it in 4 small pots with lids so I can put them in mine and my husband's lunch boxes. Only about 35 calories and really refreshing.
Hard-boiled egg (70 cals),
baby carrots (tons of vitamin A), sometimes with hummus for a dip,
string cheese (60 filling calories),
fiber one bars (140 cals),
In a tiny tupperware, I like to pack raw almonds and raisins for a sort of trail mix,
whole wheat crackers and a wedge of laughing cow spread,
cut up fruit.
I have a ton of tiny containers with lids and manage to pack at least 2-3 snacks to take with me to work every day. A re-freezable cold pack keeps everything cool if I don't have fridge access. And I throw everything in a gallon zip-lock bag to prevent spills.
Yes, I love to snack.
I love snack too ,,
I will be trying the string cheese
:O)
WOW thank you for the ideas :O)
