I take it day by day, week by week. I always make sure to have a basic meal plan for the next day. I set myself small weekly goals and I use the C C facilities as much as possible. And I do enjoy my time at the gym - it makes me feel that I have done something which is important to me and to my health. I try not to worry too much about yesterday - it's history after all. I try to concentrate on today and I will tackle tomorrow's opportunities when they arise. I have found a "weight loss buddy" through C C and he is on my case if I don't stay focused.

Reading the C C posts makes me realize that I am not the only one who has challenges and disappointments during my weight loss journey which helps me greatly to focused.

And off to gym I go!

Only I can decide how badly I want results!

I have a weight loss chart on my fridge and right under it a quote from Norman Vincent Peale that says: "It's always too early to quit." I also carry a little 64oz water bottle around with me. It reminds me to hydrate and to drink instead of eat if I feel hungery. Often I find I was just thirsty. Good luck.

I have a picture of myself  when I was about 140 lbs.. that motivates me to keep track of what I eat

That and it has really just become a lifestyle habit...  i think that's really the key- once it's a habbit it's not really that hard, it just becomes one of the daily routine,  like brushing your teeth...

you brush your teeth daily, right???

Look at how far you've come instead of how far you have to go.

I set mini goals.  Also, support helps.  I joined a Facebook group and we share our workouts and what we eat.  That has helped me a lot.

I want to lose weight.. Like more than anything almost. So I think; what is better? This food or being skinny later? Besides, once you start losing weight and eating right you realize that all that crap food you used to pig out on isn't actually that good at all so it is even easier to stay away from it.

That's how I feel lots of the time :P

I am so focused on the number crunching (burn, cal intake and deficits) and results, I run them over and over in my head until to point I can keep my focus on the cause. I also do take it day by day, week by week and month by month but also pound by pound and inch by inch. It really has consumed me but I have a very addictive personality type if it wasn't this, it be something else :P The best thing about when I let an obsession run it's course (like meeting a goal) afterwards I can still do it, just at a more healthy less obsessive level (I am like achievement crazy, once I achieve I can relax).

I log my meals for the whole day on Calorie Count, so that later when I am hungry I can remember what my plan was. As I lose weight, I donate my bigger favorite clothes and pull out the clothes I used to wear when I was thinner...or, I buy the next size down. Then, I take a photo of myself in a full-length mirror. It's the only way I can really see the change in myself...through photos.
