They do fade, over time, naturally. When you first get them, they are often deep and red and angry looking. Eventually they fade to a pale white. You can slightly cover with fake tanner, but creams don't work, at least not in my experience.
My first set of stretch marks are completely gone (from 10+ yrs ago), not even a slight fade. I do have some angry looking ones due to a 30lb weight gain in less than a month due to meds. Those will fade eventually, too. Until then I just deal.
P.S. I'm super Irish and pale, but if you have some natural color to your skin, it helps a lot as well.
I have a stretch mark on my inner thigh and I just found another one on my other inner thigh. They're small but they're pretty dark.
It's so depressing.
I started using bio oil on them and the surrounding area. I'm thinking that even if it doesn't fade the current stretch marks, it may help prevent getting more in that area.
I'll let you know if I have any luck!
If anyone has any other recommendations, please post them here or pm me!

NO! Do not waste any money on ANY cream because it will NOT work! Believe me I have tried them all. I know it's sad to hear but you will just have to learn to live with them. So sorry!!
Not at all true. You don't have to live with them, if you are willing to shell out the cash. There is laser stretch mark removal treatments. They cost about 500 dollars a treatment, and you will have to get two or three treatments, but it is extremely effective.

I agree..... I have spent money on an oil that claimed it would work. 20 bucks for 1 month worth..... and you had to use it three times a day.....
The only thing that made it even remotely worth it was that my stomach skin was soooooo soft, lol.... soft but with the marks.... I wouldn't waste the money...
Save the money you'd have to spend for all that oil or creams for the laser treatment.
I have had my stretch marks for 39 years, they only get lighter in color, they are nasty.
Depending On skin removal cream will effect , some removal having some good effect to someone while other doesn't get effect of removing. So, Before using any type of removal , you have to first read overall about removal such as ingredients, effect , sideeffect & etc...
In my opinion which might be worth 2 cents if you received your stretch marks from pregnancy try to look at them as your work for bringing a most amazing gift into the world. The ability to carry and nurture life with in you is remarkable. I have 4 kids and with each one i received my badges of honor(stretch marks) I know what one gave what. When i look at them I am reminded how little they were and how i would do it all again. They are 11 8 5 and 3 my kids
Think of them as souvenirs. :) or battle wounds of the pregnancy and motherhood. When they're all grown up and left the nest, you'll still have something to remind you of them as babies.
When you can't change a situation, you just need a different approach to thinking about it, lol. :)
I love my kids dearly and adore each and every one of them, but I still think my stretch marks are nasty ![]()

Neither of those statements are completely true
Lasers cannot completely erase them
and lotions and such can help fade the coloring a bit and help to prevent more

I use unscented raw shea butter not the so called ones they have on the market.......the real deal. It is good for your skin and stretch marks and bruises and scrapes. I am a Black woman and for me stretch marks stand out sooo much and as the other posters say nasty looking. The shea butter makes mys kin soft and smooth and fades the marks.
I started to get them at age 14, and I wasn't even that overweight. Very frustrating, but I try not to think about it.
Have any of you guys tried that Celtrixa stuff they have advertised on TV? I thought that looked rather intriguing. You know, the annoying commercial with the two women at the gym? "Girl, you look good!? Don't get offended but what happened to your stretchmarks?" haha
I only have 2, but they're dark.
They stare at me whenever I'm changing or taking a shower. Evil little things.
They're probably 1/2 an inch long and red. I'm pretty sure they're stretch marks.
If they fade to white that wouldn't be too bad.
They only other place I have stretch marks are my boobs, and they haven't faded very much :(
