What do you take to help you with your weight loss challenge?

Curious what do you take daily. I take the usual vitamins. Calcium. and few other things that help with my weight loss on different levels.

Like Cinnamon. it helps with blood sugur regulation. and 5-HTP. I like cinnamon anyway. And I was using it on my oatmeal b/4 I heard what it was good for...but the 5-HTP is a supplemtnthat is new for me. But I did alot research b/4 hand.

What is oyur experience with coconut oil? I LOVE the taste but loads of calories. I hear it alos helps regulate blood sugar/insulin. But fat calories are high.

Let's get a string going on this. Whyat are you taking and why. What have you seen it do so far in your journey?

I eat a lot of nutrient dense foods that have a lot of the viatmins and stuff you need in them. I take a "One-A-Day" multi-vitamin because Consumer Reports and other company's rated them higher in being honest about what's in the pill. A lot of the generics they tested did NOT have everything in it they said they did. One-A-Day brand and some of the other name brands did have what they said they did in them. I am now trying a "weight loss" version of the One-A-day brand and I take a omega 3 supplement and that's in. Drink a glass of milk, a glass of V8 and eat some apples and bananas and stuff and you should be good. I use the vitamin to plug any holes where I may not have eaten something with it in them.
I take Rainbow Prenatal & Folic Acid because I am a breastfeeding mom trying to conceive. I also take Omega-3s to help with bi-polar disorder & Cal/Mag for bone health (I'm healing from a bone graph but I think Cal/Mag is essential for every woman, just like Folic Acid).
I take a women's one a day with hormone balancing herbs.  Fish oil and E.

I take a variety of things, but to answer your questions on blood sugar control, are you a diabetic? Chromium is pretty well studied to help with insulin sensitivity (therefore helping your cells take up glucose, thus regulating blood sugar). I do not know of much solid research on cinnamon doing this. I currently am selling nutritional supplements to physicians that are pharmaceutical grade. We have chromium in our Diet/Energy formulation for this purpose as well as some other things to help with metabolism, appetite, and lean body mass. It also helps to increase your energy without those feelings of irritability and shakiness. We have 5-HTP in our Sleep product (all natural), because it is a pre-cursor to serotonin (low amounts of this chemical is associated with depression) and thus helps with sleep. There are other ingredients in this product as well. Depending on your goals and current health conditions, I could tell you what is well studies and what is more "experimental." Omega-3s are VERY WELL substantiated and have many benefits; brain health, to skin, to eye health, to the more known benefit, heart health.

Yeah, thanks Knevils. Pharm grade supps are what I normally buy. 5-HTP in the form of "Serene" but NO chromium...I was advised not to take it...See http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/weight-loss -etc/chromium-picolinate-information.htm

Not a diabetic,  What do you think of the post above about "one a day" vitamin? I take Pharm grade omega 3 and the vitamin I take is made by Douglas Labs EPD Formula. I also take Kyolic garlic extract every other day. I take others but I'm too lazy to get up and see who makes them. I think supps are important. I'm interested in whey protein, I'm taking a goat whey that is fantastic.
