Support Group to reach Goal by Halloween 2012
I am giving myself one year to get to my goal. I do not want to be that fat chick dressed up looking awful, I want to be able to go along with the themes my friends choose, Like this year they are all X-Men but I am going as Athena in a flowing costume that masks some of my fat. So, next year I will be at my goal by Halloween, If I get to it before that is awesome but by Halloween for sure. So, who's with me? I would like this to be a supportive group where we can do weekly weigh ins and talk about life and set backs and break throughs. I am part of a dying forum that was awesome but has died down. I envision this as a place to check in daily as we work toward our goals, be it to lose 30 pounds (like me) or 100 or 10, or to just get down a size and tone up for superhero abs. We all have a goal lets work together to get to them...
i am 30 5'6.
Are you going to close the group after you get to a certain number? I have joined a group already and it got soo big close to 425 that i was like nahhh. i cannot keep track in such a big group.
lul I hadn't thought of that... I guess if it got too big I would but I don't see that happening. I think I could follow maybe 25-50 people's lives at a time so if it got bigger than that I would think about it. Do you have kids/pets/significant other/gym membership??

gym-yes. Started the gym in augst with a 2 month boot camp. it was wonderfully painfully hard. But i loved every minute of it. Since then i hired a trainer. Started gym at 185lbs and now 171lbs (this morn). lowest was 169.8lbs aiming to be 150 toned and shapely
lul I think wanting to look smoking hot in a dress is a great reason to not set a date, makes perfect sense to me, it is your big day after all and there will be thousands of photos, who wants to feel self-conscious in their wedding dress. Woo I am far to chicken to try a boot camp, maybe when I am in not terrible shape I will but for now baby steps. I am going to go join the gym tomorrow (not to work out) and will go workout on Wednesday morning.
So today was my weigh in day, after 1 week of committing myself I lost a total of 2.5lbs..so I officially weigh 225.5lbs...it would have been more I totally splurged and had fast food last night, and feeling like I had neglected my best friend I wanted to have as much of it as I could stuff in my face. I immediately regretted it and suffered the consequences today..yesterday I weighed myself clothed (I usually weigh naked) and I was down to 223, so from eating that not-as-great-as-I-thought-it-would-be meal...showed me the error of my ways on the scale.
But oh well, I am not mad at myself, I still lost for the week, and at least I know exactly what I did wrong to sabotauge myself...and can change my future...

Nichole: I'm sure some of the extra weight is just water weight, fast food is extremely high in sodium. Drink some extra water and see what happens :)
Lul: I kinda agree that wanting to look good in the dress is a semi-decent reason to hold off on setting a date. I mean, I just got married this month, in a court wedding, but we're doing the ceremony next year, part of the reason I am holding off on the ceremony is to look good in a dress :P
Gym: On Wednesday, the hubby and I are going down to the gym down the street to see about getting memberships (they're our wedding present from his parents). They want us to have a joint account for a couples membership, which is asinine, but we'll see how much we'd save by couples membership versus two individual.
Doctor: Turns out I have bronchitis. Good enough reason to be coughing for the past week straight. The doc gave me cough medicine with codeine and an antibiotic (even though bronchitis is usually caused by a viral infection /cough). Hopefully this helps me out. It's sucked the past week because the coughing wakes me up tons of times throughout the night. Last night I went to bed at like 1130 and got out of bed at 930, which would be a long time to sleep, if it weren't for the fact that I was waking up pretty much every 2 hours thanks to coughing.
Got an pre-screened offer in the mail to refinance my car, something I've been looking at doing. Going to go to the dealership the lending company works with this week to see if they'll actually do it or not. Chances are that it'll just be a method attempting to get me to buy a new car and avoid refinancing my current one, but we'll see.
And, still 191. Sigh, 2 lbs over my goal for Halloween. Getting sick is no bueno. Keeps me from working out and makes me more likely to eat sodium-rich foods. The good news is that I'm drinking tons of water.
Nichole two and a half pounds in a week is nothing to be disappointed in. Sodium is a killer, and fast food is full of it. Drink lots of water and green tea and I am sure you will see a huge loss for next week, this will just be a blip.
Rys you keep posting as I am posting and then I have to edit to reply to you. A couples membership might keep you both more accountable, I imagine you can't cancel one half of it. Refinancing loans is usually a good idea, lower interest and so on. I am glad the doctor has given you a diagnosis, makes it easier to get better
nichole i agree. the same thing happened to me. weighed wed and it was 169.8 then i had some jerk chicken (i a m from Jamaica) friday night with a slice of fried plantain and one festival (made from flour and cornmeal and fried) then the saturday i had sweet and sour chicken which tasted like it was drenched in sugar and peas and rice (about 2 cups) and my oh my did i feel it when i weighed. 172lbs. So sunday i drank 2.5 litres of water had loads of veg and protein through out the day for lunch and dinner. snacked on unsalted nuts banana and whole wheat bread and sardine for breakfast and green tea. and behold i am now 171.
today i am doing the same thing. tons of water, cutting back on carbs and sugar and salt. I am sure tomorrow the scale will say 170.
aiming to be back at 169.8 (or less) by sunday.
lul it is so frustrating when sodium throws us so far off track. I used to drink nearly 4 liters of water every day, I am going to go back to that
Thanks everyone for the positive reinforcement...I was pretty sure that it is just water weight...My 30th birthday is Wednesday...and I am hoping that if I drink enough water and don't pig out on my kids candy that I can get back to the 223 I was yesterday :)
I actually think eating the fast food was good for me, I felt like crap afterward, and it really made me feel like NOT doing that to my body again! It was a good reminder of why I am trying to stay away from fast food :)
nichole I seriously wonder what they put in fast food that makes it addictive while at the same time makes a healthy persons body revolt.
kathryn I totally agree, hopefully...one day I will revolt it too :)
November Goals
1) Note book (kind of like a diary) - I want to get my note book caught up this month, I want to keep it up to date and not get behind again. I want to draw in it at least once a week, coffee or not. I figure if I keep it up to date I should finish the current on by the end of this month and start a new one in December.2) Blog - I want to post at least 3 times a week, preferably every day but at least 3 times a week. 3) Food - I want to get back on track - I don’t intend to really start counting until the new year but I really want to get back on track so being strict isn’t such a challenge.
4) Exercise - I am joining the Gym tomorrow and want to hit it at least 5 days a week. One hour on some sort of awesome muscle building cardio machine. I want to work up to every single day.
5) House - I want to keep a clean house. Tomorrow I am going to clean my rooms top to bottom and keep it that way. (this will be done in the mornings after the gym I think)
6) Guitar - I need to start practicing, Every day, 20 minutes, probably in the morning after the Gym.
7) Work - I want to get the master database up to date to be able to do a massive mail out in December.
8) Relationship - Quality time and Communication.
9) Friends - I want to see Kaja, Kelvin and Sean (my 3 "friends") each at least once this month. I haven't seen Sean in nearly an year.
10) WoW - I want to get up to level 85 on my main (yeah I am still not there yet).
also lose 5 pounds.
Nichole: Good job!! 2 pounds in a week is healthy weight loss so its nothing to complain about! Think of it in the sense that if you lose 2 pounds every week then by the end of the year you will have lose 104 pounds!!
Today was kind of a messed up day for me as well. I started off really well and had oatmeal and an orange for breakfast, then a turkey sandwich for lunch. Then not even 2 hours later I had 2 slices of pizza. I decided the pizza would be my dinner so I'm hoping my calories were not really high today.
As for working out I hurt myself trying to do p90x last night so I may just jump rope today... I recently got a hold of the turbo jam and turbo fire workouts so I'm hoping those work well for me :)
Rys I'm sorry you feel sick!!! A home remedy that works great for coughing and sleeping is eating 2 spoonfuls of honey. It soothes your throat and it also helps you sleep through the night. I think most types of honey have 0 calories too!
abusaifhadel that is awesome, putting weight-loss in perspec tive like that, If I lose a pound a week by next Halloween I will be at my goal with room to spare! It is good that you are still doing a workout even though you are sore. Also there is no such think as no calorie honey, honey is about the same calorie-wise as sugar, but it is great for sore throats, also tea.

So today I weighed in at 173.8lbs. Feeling extremely awesome about it. I managed to do great last night. Only 3 pieces of chocolate.
abu, nichole, lulu, sheba, hassan: Hi and Welcome! Some of us girls already know each other from a previous forum so it's nice to meet you all. A little about myself:
I've been on CC almost 2 years now. I started off at 215lbs then got down to 199lbs and I joined CC. Since then I went from 199lbs to 163lbs. After that I got pregnant and gained 449lbs of that back. I had my little girl at the end of July and I am now back down to 173lbs. My overall goal is to get down to 135lbs which puts me at 39lbs to go.
I look forward to hearing from you girls and we are all here to support each other.
******I think we should kick off NOVEMBER with a challenge. Make it a personal challenge since we all have different schedules and such.
November Challenge for myself: Work out 3 days a week for an hour and try to lose 8lbs by Dec. 1st.
abusaifhadel~I never thought to took at a 2lb a week weight loss like that, when put that way it seems awe inspiring! It makes me feel much better about my 2.5lbs :)
SO I agree with Dutchess...November should be a challenge month, and here is my challenge for myself...jump rope for at least 20 3 days a week...right now I do almost no exercise, so I have to start somewhere :) And being momma to 3 kids and a wife, plus I run my own online boutique from home...doesn't leave me a lot of time to myself..so I think this will be realistic for me, until it is more of a habit.
My goal is to loose 10 lbs by the end of November because I am starting out the month with some extra water weight.
Oh and I wanted to add, I resisted all candy last night, all 3 of my kids combined have a total of about 12lbs of candy, and I have NOT eaten a single piece! Plus we probably walked about 3 miles last night!
hey ladies thnks for the welcome. Yes i want to lose at least 5lbs by end of nov. I have never gone as high as 10lbs in a month so i won't even out that as a goal.
started my day by weighing. 169.4 wooot woot. I am 5'6 feet (just to remind you)
goal for nov then is
1. 5lbs lost
2. keep up with my exercise programme
3. don't gain anyweight while on vacation in LA late nov (for thnkxgivingggggggggggg)
p.s. just remember ladies take it a day at a time. I try to plan my food a day in advance so i don't slip up. I find if i do it weekly it's hard. Also if u eat one bad thing for the day, don't be down on yourself, just don't repeat it at another meal for the same day or the next day:)
