Not sure how many calories I should eat
Hi everyone! I know that this question is constantly asked, but I just wanted some input on how many calories I have been eating. I am a 20 years old female and 6'0 tall. I am not very active (I'm a student so most of the time I am sitting in lecture or sitting at work) but I have been trying to do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred or go to the gym most days of the week. I am trying to eat 1750 calories on the days that I work out, and 1600 on the days that I do not. Do you all think that is a good number, or should I go higher or lower? Thanks so much!
How much do you weigh?
Judging by your height I'd say you need to eat a lore more than 1,600/1,750.
Sorry I totally forgot to include my weight! I weigh about 175 and am hoping to get down to 155 or 160 and then see how I feel there.
Use the system to determine the goal calories per day by doing the following. Go to the 'Logging' word at the top of your page, and select 'Account Settings'. Enter all the information here and save it. A important pieces of information on this page to enter are start weight, start date, goal weight, goal date, height, sex, body type, and lifestyle (just enter sedentary).
Then, on the same page, go down to 'Target Daily Calories' and click on the word 'Advice'. Confirm your current weight and goal weight. Confirm the additional information on the next page. Then, it will recommend the target calories per day.
If you want to lose the weight too fast than is healthy, the system will tell you and you can move out your goal date.

Ok, you should definitely be eating a bit more than that. The US dietary guidelines recommend 1,800 calories for the average woman. You are much taller than the average woman, and consequently much heavier. Even at a perfectly healthy weight for you, you'll still be heavier than the average woman by a bit.
My point being that you need to eat more than 1,800. Probably around 2,200-2,400. Of course if you don't do any exercise you may burn fewer calories, but either way I would try a couple of weeks on something around 2,200 and see how you feel and what the scale says. Then adjust from there,
Wow I can't believe that I should be eating that many calories! I barely seem to loose on 1500 ish calories, but I guess that could be because my body isn't getting enough. I will try going up a few hundred and see how that works out.
