Lauren in San Diego here (5'11'').  I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy.  I need to get back on the wagon.  I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150.  Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow.  I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated.  All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!

Let's look hot and healthy this summer!!!

No real change here had some really good workouts this week though. Loving the warmer weather for outdoor exercise.

Smartgirl- great work with all the training. Good Luck!!

Late again! Looks like this is turning into monthly weigh-ins for me. ;)

Avastasia- monthly is better than never :) good job with the loss.

Great week here exercise wise. Food choices also a bit better AND I found out I got a job in my chosen specialty for next year!! Huge relief. Hoping that with some of that stress off me this weight will shift. I was steady at 158-159 before I started doing all the applications and traveling for interviews so hoping to be back there soon and then keep on going to 150!!

I've got a question... I'm seeing very slow progress overall, despite cutting my calories from most probably over 2000 down to around 1600, and increasing my workouts.

One of the things I notice is a huge swing from day to day in my weight. I was so excited yesterday morning when I weighed in at 183, but this morning I'm at 186.4. Does my above-average height mean I retain above-average water, for instance?

Now, I did eat more than usual yesterday,  it was about a 2200 cal of pasta, cheese and a slice of coconut cream pie.

Last time I checked in: 187

So I haven't checked in for a couple of weeks. It was TTOM last week and my weight was consistently up about 3 lbs but now, as usual, back to normal! :) I've been working hard with increasing my exercise time and intensity plus trying to limit goodies, have good portion control, and eat better foods.  I think it's working and if I stick with it I'm hoping to be close to 180 by end of May.  I think I'm do to take measurements since I  probably haven't done that since last summer. That shall be my goal for next week!

Jezebel- I don't really have any good advice or helpful hints for ya, but I can relate and have the same issues at times.  Around TTOM I'm always affected, never fails.  All I know is that slow is good, usually will be a better outcome and it's healthy. And if you stick with it, you will see results. It's been a long road, and I'm still traveling it.  I started out in 2009 weighing about 229, now I'm down to 187 (3 yrs later).  I've been exercising consistently since that time too so my body has improved in shape because of that.  I'm sure I could have gotten to my goal quicker, but I also probably would have gained it back already, which I haven't done!! :) Slow is still progress!! :)

Thanks Kate! I'm finally getting somewhere. :)

Wow, where have i been. Almost forgot about this forum until i recently thought about getting back into shape. My last post was Jan 10, and i was 181, which i'm at 182 now. But i gained about 9lbs in that time. I started seeing someone the end of Dec, and things are going really great with us. Alittle too much bliss i was starting to overendulge and not exercise. But the weather started getting nicer and started walking a lot more.  Even went on a 10k walk towing my son in his wagon, he enjoyed an entire nap while i walked 10 ks! But i have a wedding to go to in May, and will be meeting a lot of my bfs friends, and want to look great for it. SO i'd love to lost about 15-20 by then, with only 2 months away i really need to get my butt in gear! It's great to see all the new faces, and still see some familar faces on here!

Marie, I'm right there with ya! I've been busy these last couple of weeks.  I'm so excited for the warmer weather and to get outside more.  And I would like to lose 10 lbs by the end of May, so Marie, it's on! :)  Haha.  Except it's TTOM right now so I'm waiting for it to pass before I weigh myself again!  Just got the New Rules of Lifting for Women and am excited to read it and hope it helps motivate me more than anything. I have already been doing a lot of what they've said, so I'm happy about that! :)  Have a great Easter this coming weekend! :)

Cleaned my diet up, just fruits and veggies, eggs, and chicken, and fish, no salt, seasoned only with herbs and spices. It's been so hard, but i've noticed a big difference.  And on the weekend i allow for a little more flavour, but still try to keep it clean, and within my calorie intake range. Hope everyone else is doing good! This forums been a little quiet lately!

Hello Ladies, I have been remiss with my calorie counting but must be doing ok since my weight surprisingly hasn't gone up in the last few months. Hope you all are well.

Marie- I love the summer fruits and veggie diet! I got my garden in last month so just waiting to start eating :)

A few years ago I was 5'8" and 185. Now I'm 5'10" and fluctuate between 160 and 165. I have a wide hip structure, which always makes it tough for me to gage what weight would look good. Honestly, I lost that weight by watching portion sizes. It was slow because I didn't add exercising but the weight has stayed off! Now, to keep me eating healthy, I try to think of what our bodies were made to process. That has helped me so much! And my doc suggested switching to whole grain to help slim my middle. Trying to slim my middle and build muscle in my upper body, who knows how that will go. Hopefully my story helps!

Well it's Friday! And the last time i weighed in i was 182, and i kept going up and down between 181-187, but could never seem to get below 181.  But i'm finally out of the 80's! Supper excited!

Supper excited about my progress, and hope that i can reach my goal weight in 2 weeks!

Anybody still around? Doing well here. Finally graduated and have a bit of time off before starting work. Weight holding steady at 161-162. Have been remiss with exercise so just focusing on clean eating and will try to re-up the exercise once I am back to a routine. Signed up for my annual half marathon December 1st so I'll have to get started soon :) Hope you all are well.

Hi everybody! I want to hang out with you guys too, if it's ok.

My name is Meryl and my stats are very similar to some here - I'm 5'10", I weigh 165 lbs and I need to hit 150 in time for my wedding at the end of October!

In 2007 I lost about 30 lbs down from a high of 192 and it made a huge difference. 150 was my goal then as well, and has been for years, but my body just doesn't want to go under 160 and I'm very frustrated. Today is day one, though. If I am ever going to do it, it's now! I've joined a gym and I'm going to try to go 1-2x a week, which isn't much but is huge over my normally sluglike activity level.

Meryl, Welcome! This forum waxes and wanes in the level of posting but it has been a great place to get support over the years. I too hit a wall at 160ish. I've gotten down to 157-158 intermittently but haven't managed to make my 150 goal. Have been trying for years. Eventually I'll make it! Starting slow with the exercise is a great approach. Something is better than nothing and if you are maintaining 165 with no exercise you should have good results. Even if the exercise doesn't translate into many pounds lost you will def. reshape your body and look great in your wedding dress. Good luck!
