Under on calories but it's so late at night!
Hey guys, it's 10 pm and I'm sitting just under 1100 calories. I really don't want to eat right before bed but I don't how bad this is. I'm not hungry, probably because I've gotten plenty of fiber today. My nutrition grade is A, I've hit all my nutrients (except that darn potassium). How bad can it be to eat under 1200 once in a while? I mean, what about when people fast? Then again, I don't want to go into starvation mode. So what would you guys do?
Waited an hour and nobody has an opinion? lol. Oh well, I'm going to just go to bed since I'm not hungry and now it's 11. I'm going to listen to my body, I don't think it needs more food right now. But maybe tomorrow it will demand a bit extra? Who knows.
You have to actually starve yourself for a number of days to reach starvation. The human body isn't as weak as people believe though.

Sorry, you're body isn't going to mess up after one day of not reaching the recommended daily allowance. You will be fine.

You should not be telling people it's okay to under eat. You have an eating disorder. If you want to ruin your own life, that's fine, but don't drag others down with you.
And no reason for the tone of that last post. Really that is a bit much.

Seriously? Saying someone has an ED? Because they had less calories for one day?
Educate yourself please.
To the OP. You're fine..it's one day. Don't make it a habit and it's cool

Crittle didn't say the OP had an ED. She said the lanayru has an ED (which is based on her other posts, not on the one here).
That said, to the OP: One day, you are fine. If it is happening more often, you need to figure out how to get more calories in throughout the day.
And eating before bed is just fine, so if that was your only reason for not eating, that's not a good reason. Not a heavy meal that might make it difficult to sleep, but something light should be fine.

I was saying that the chick with the ED shouldn't be telling the OP it's okay to under eat. Perhaps if you weren't so dense you would have understood that. The OP is fine, but it's super messed up for someone with an eating disorder to give someone the okay on under eating.
I know lanayruu has an eating disorder because I looked back through her old posts. Maybe if you were also as thorough you would have known this.
You should educate yourself, sweetheart.

I don't think it is a big deal. I was under last night, not hungry, so I went to bed! I'm sure I'll be over at some point this week too! People are so extreme. I mean sure don't under often but I'm not forceing myself to eat when full. Pretty sure eating when full got me here!
And no reason for the tone of that last post. Really that is a bit much.
I don't have an issue with you being under your calories. The issue is an individual with an ED telling you it's okay to under eat.
Feel free to feel it was a bit much. I 100% disagree with you.
What kills me about this site is that there are so many "Experts" who truly have no education or understanding of the human body. I am not a nutritionist but did graduate in anatomy. Going 1 day without reaching your "goal calories" is not going to hurt you at all. In fact many people will fast 1-2 days a week. Guess what...That wont hurt you either as long as you maintain your hydration. WHo made up the rule 3 meals a day anyway? That in and by itself makes NO sense.
Anybody that has lost 20lbs immediately becomes an expert..LOL.

So, what you're saying is...people on this thread can't seem to read?
That's honestly what I'm getting from everyone who is responding. Is reading comprehension everyone's weak point here? Did you seriously miss the part where I said the issue is with the eating disordered individual telling people it's okay to under eat? Did you also just happen to miss the part where I said the OP would be fine?
It's pretty annoying having to repeat yourself over and over again. And it's pretty annoying seeing ignorant people being very dismissive of a pretty huge issue, especially since under eating seems to be a huge trend around here.
Eating disordered people should probably not be telling people it's okay to under eat. End of story. If you don't like it, too bad.

Good gravy NOT EVERYBODY HAS AN EATING DISORDER DAMN. -_-
You will be fine under eating one day, just don't make it a habit. Just like you'd be ok overeating one day. ONE DAY does nothing!
Well, thanks for answering my question everyone!

Can you explain to me why you think it's okay to have people giving under eating as proper advice? Can you explain to me why your brain seems to think it's okay for that advice to come from someone suffering from an eating disorder? I'm assuming you can't. I'm also assuming you're just upset because you're also under eating and I called you on it the other day.
I actually do my research. I don't just tell people silly methods and then get all butt hurt when someone corrects me. I try to actually help people here, and people like you, who offer poor advice and pick little fights because your ego has been wounded, make this more difficult. I can think critically and comprehend what others are saying. I'm pretty sure, if the individuals in this thread are any indication, that my problem solving skills are advanced in comparison.
People don't grow into healthier people if they're offered terrible advice. That puts them on the fast track to yo-yo dieting and unhealthy practices in health, fitness, and nutrition. People grow and achieve their goals by having proper information available to them, and by having a support system in place that is not afraid to correct them when they are wrong.
Your posts, jayco141, lead me to believe that you don't do your research. And in turn, this leads me to think that you assume no one else does their research.

For the last time, for the incompetent people in this thread, OP does not have an eating disorder! Lanayruu does!

TBH i didnt pay much attention because idc that much. But all i knwo is i hate when people here talk about my ed, and think just because I had/have an ed means everything I say is false? what gives you guys the right to disregard what someone says just because of an ed? Especially when its true. No need to be snobby control yourself this is caloriecount.com not the debate club. -_-

People are way too quick to drop the ED bomb. Eating disorders are extremely serious and saying everyone has one makes it so much more difficult for those who need it to get real help. A person who says, "don't worry about it, one day won't kill you, just don't stay under tomorrow" clearly does not have an eating disorder.
This has really gone on too far. If you actually look at the poster that crittle was referring to, lanayruu (not the OP) has stated that she does have an ED. It was not an accusation. It was a caution of the source of the information.
Again, the source of that information was not based on this thread, but past threads.
ETA: And in regards to the advice lanayruu gave, the first paragraph was fine, in my opinion. It was the second that gave me pause, and I'm guessing the reason that crittle responded the way she did.

Um false. I agree with the first sentence and the second. but I have had an ED, trust me. OP does not have ed, so that advice is right? IDGI?
