Up your calories every 10 pounds lost?
Im a 21 yr old female 5'3 and 214 lbs. I have just recently lost 22 pounds. Im eating 1375 calories per day. I heard that every 10 pounds lost, that you should up your calories. Is this true? How many calories should I consume? I would like to lose two pounds a week.
Take it from someone who has already been through this, you need to be eating more than 1300 calories a day. At your weight, you should be eating around 1700-1800 calories.
Also, no you don't up your calories after losing weight.
Like jack said, you don't up your calories as you lose. It's actually the opposite. At 214lbs. you have more mass to move around- you burn more so you can eat more and still lose weight. As you lose you have to lower your intake, as you no longer burn as much. I think a lot of people make the mistake of undereating to lose weight. At your current weight you can eat 1800 easily and still lose. As you start to lose you can adjust that down a bit to continue losing.
Try not to make it more difficult than it has to be and you'll be able to stick with it. Best of luck.
your going backwards you need to lower you calorie re imput your new weight in your profile and it will tell you what your new lower cal intake should be.
I get this everytime I post my Calorie Intake. People reply to me like I have an ED or something and that Im starving my self. Im eating more then what CC advised for me to eat. CC said to eat 1200.Thank you to the those that were helpful.
Nobody said you have an ED or starving yourself, or even suggested that. They simply said that you should eat more because it will be physically healthier and you'll have better weight loss success.
CC often underestimates your calorie need, especially if you say that you are Sedentary, and even more especially if you are actually more active than that. Try www.phord.com/cc for a second opinion.
Quite a lot of us found that CC recommend too low an intake, and when we upped it, we started losing more weight, more consistently. People are trying to share that experience with you, so that you don't have to figure it out by trial and error.
I was talking about previous posts. Thanks for the help
