I've been using CC for about a month now, and things seem to be going well. However, I had a question or two that I'm not able to answer, and I'd love to get feedback from some of you.
I'm a big guy. Starting weight of 280, current 265, goal somewhere around 200. I'm 6'0" and 28 years old. I exercise 5x a week, doing a mix of 30-40 minutes of cardio, and 20-30 minutes of calisthenics and weights. I've made a number of lifestyle changes, including cutting out fast food and soda, and decreasing my caloric intake.
I guess my first question is, does it seem like I'm doing this right? I'm more dedicated to losing this weight than I've ever been (what with the 9 month old and 4 year old boys and beautiful wife to live for), but I want to do it the right way, and have it stick.
My second question deals with calorie deficit. I'm currently eating somewhere between 2000-2500 calories a day, and with exercise added in, that leaves me with an average calorie deficit of around 800-900 cal/day or more. Is that too extreme, or with my size (high percentage of body fat) is that ok at least in the short term? My nutrition is good - B or better each day, with 10-12 green bars.
Sorry for all the questions; I value the input I've already received on these forums!
Honestly it sounds like you're doing the right things. You seem to have realized that it's not just a diet, it's a new lifestyle. Just don't try to do too much at once and get burned out.
You don't have to completely cut out fast food and soda. If you still want have it as a special treat.
Your calories and deficit sound good, but realize that as you get closer to your goals you will need to recalculate and 800-900 deficit might be too much as you get close.
Your deficit is fine. You are doing it right. Good luck.
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
