Does your water intake count if it just makes you pee alot?

I took in alot of salt over the weekend and I'm feeling pretty bloated and puffed out so I'm to be really good and take in lots of water (not more than the recommended daily amount but just more than I usually drink) but I'm wondering if it's doing me any good because now I need to go to the bathroom every 40 mins or there-abouts

Does this happen to other people? Is it helping me at all?

Thanks guys x

Yes, you are going to pee out most of the water you consume. That's part of the point - peeing gets rid of things like salt. More water = more peeing = less salt in body.

= less water retention and bloating = flatter tummy again???? :)

you got it.

I'm sure most of you now this but:

Clear Pee= Well hydrated

Yellow Pee= Drink more water!

As far as a recommended daily amount, I don't think there is any such thing. My philosophy is you can't drink enough!

drinking too much water can poison your body. 8-10 glasses is enough

The condition is called Water Intoxication. Under normal circumstances, accidentally consuming too much water is exceptionally rare. Nearly all deaths related to water intoxication in normal individuals have resulted either from water drinking contests in which individuals attempt to consume large amounts of water, or long bouts of intensive exercise during which electrolytes are not properly replenished, yet excessive amounts of fluid are still consumed.

I typically consume 4 liters a day and more when backpacking.

The healthiest way to lose water weight is to drink more water.

Just remember though, if you take a multivitamin your pee is likely to be yellow anyway. It's the B vitamins that do it.

I was taking a "super B" and didn't knowwhat it would do to my pee:  It looked like I'd dropped a yellow felt tip marker in the toilet bowl!
