I'm 14 and currently weigh 126.8lbs :P My highest weight was 133 but by the time I decided to try and get fitter and thinner I was at 130 again. So my goal weight is 120lbs. I hope to get there before summer! I'm looking forward to rocking a bikini. Because at my weight and with my frame, weighing less would actually look more attractive.

I'm at 5'6.5" now so just a little under...

but anyways, my history: at 14 and under the height I am now I was 151lbs (icky!) and a UK size 14.

2 summers ago I was 145lbs and a size 12. Up to this current date I am down to 113lbs and I owe it all to hard work and determination :)

You have a BMI of 18 and are clinically underweight.  I strongly encourage you to consider the health risks involved with being under weight.  You by no means need to lose any more weight.  Please please reconsider this course of action.

She is 14 years old and for that age, is at a healthy weight.  She would only be considered underweight if she were an adult at that height/weight.  The healthy weight range for her age and height is between 98-145 lbs.

Wow, really that low for a teenager.   Huh... I'd have never imagined that.

Blondiecath - I am really sorry.  I did not realize that the guidlines where so drastically different.  I appologize for speaking before I double checked the info.  I am sorry.

I still would say that you are very slender and shouldn't be too concerned with losing weight at your age.  As you mature you will gain weight.  But again teen info very obviously isn't my strong point.  Please stay safe and healthy!

Hey all,

I was glad to see this post as I've always wondered what other women my height weigh! I currently weigh 147 lbs. I've spent most of my 20s changing between 150 and 157 I'd say, and I'd love, love, LOVE to be 140lbs, as I've never been that low before and I think I'd look fantastic (although people see me at my current weight and think I look great, it's a compliment for sure but it's really how you feel inside, isn't it?). I can't pitcure myself at 135 like a lot of you are saying is your goal.... but maybe I should work towards it? My sisters are all a bit shorter than me, and they're all super thin, it's almost like I don't believe 135 is a possibility because then I'd be a similar size to them, and I've never been think like they are, like an unattainable goal.... anyhow, see how it goes!

Any of you ever wish that you could walk behind yourself walking down the street, just to see how big/jiggly/fat/thin you actually are? I do! Hahaha

Hope you're all having a good day :)

Wow I don't!  I think I would cry lol.  I'm one of those people that have a lot of confidence in myself walking down the street, thinking I'm just hot stuff......until I catch a glimpse of myself in a store window lol.  I purposely DON'T look in passing mirrors/windows for that reason - I prefer to think of myself as hawt. Laughing

I would NEVER want to walk behind myself!  I'd cry!

I'm 5'6.5" and I currently weigh 177 lbs and aiming for 154, which would put me at the high end of a good BMI and I'd still have my curves.  I like to be curvy and I am 44 yrs old.  Hubby likes the booty too!  Gotta keep that for him! LOL

Good luck everyone who wants to lose, maintain or gain!  ;)

Haha, I think about that al the time. Everytime I'm out and not thinking about specific things I end up trying to compare my size to all the other girls around me.

I just end up getting confused about how heavy I actually look D:

Anyway. 5'7.5" and weigh 140lbs. I'm looking to lose about 5-7lbs and maintain around there.

Wow reading through these posts makes me  think my goal weight is still considered fat. I'm a 22 year old female and currently weigh 212. I started a couple months ago at 228 and am aiming for 170 as my goal weight. I'm extremely curvy, and although I'm overweight, I carry weight very well. At my lowest weight, which was 140, I looked sickly (in my opinion). I have no intention of getting rid of my curves or losing my body shape, just want to become healthier. Not to knock anyone who wants to be slim and slender, but I guess it's just not for me.

Im 5ft 7.5 (that half inch counts lol) and im 104 lbs. Ya im a bit underweight i think.

i'm 5'7 and weight 169.. That is consideribly heavier that what has been noted in this forum so far. The weird thing though is I do not look it I am down from 180. I danced for 16 years so my legs are solid muscle and I have a D cup *i think this is where alot of the weight is* When I ask people to guess how much I weigh they say 130's makes me smile :)

I'm 5 7.5 and 137 lbs ....my goal weight is 120 and lose a lot of body fat ... currently am not toned ... so I wanna work on that too

 Anusha. What's your current BMI?

120 sounds low!

im 5'7 and 120lb. Im just looking to tone up the stubborn "have to look 3 months pregnant" stomach.

my current BMI is 21.5 ... and am not looking forward to become too skinny .... my main aim is to get rid of my body fat ....

I'm 36 years old and and 5'7 and around 140. (Down from 175!)  I vary from 137 to 142 regularly.  I always wonder too if I should have a lower goal.  I got down to in the lower 130's for a while but it was hard to stay there; I had to be really disciplined.  I wear a size 8 too which is strange when I hear people weighing 20 pounds more and wearing the same size.  Any thoughts?  It's interesting to hear about how much others at the same height weigh. Best of luck 5'7s! :)

I have a question- why is it so important to go by BMI? My boyfriend is 240 pounds, but he plays football and has 5% body fat. According to his BMI levels though, apparently he's obese??

I'm around 120-125 range and I've never felt healthier.

I'm 5'7.3 and I weigh 125 lbs. My BMI is thus 19.4.  My body fat percentage is 18% and I am twenty-one years old. I usually wear a UK size 8, but sometimes I need a size 6.

I'd like to be 120 lbs, which would mean my bmi would be 18.6.

According to the World Health Organisation 120lbs is a healthy weight for someone my age and height.

I weigh 155 but I am a dancer as well as joining the military at 19 so I would say there is a lot of muscle there as well?

Hey I'm 19, 5'7" and 155lbs.  My goal weight is 130-135lbs for my 20th birthday mid April, and I want to be toned not skinny :).  I have and hourglass shape so I have big boobs and hips, and I know if I was 120lbs I would look sick.  I like having curves, and the guys like it too ;).  Right now I don't even look overweight or anything, I just don't like some of the jiggly bits.

And as a note, the BMI is a tool used to give you an idea of around what weight is healthy.  It is by no means an effective measure for every individual as it does not take into account muscle (which weighs more than fat as we all know), frame size, etc.  If any one person is concerned about their weight the best thing to do would be to talk to a health professional who has the means to take all factors into account and give you a more accurate idea of where your body is on the healthy scale.  Good luck!
