YOu can get bodyfat caliper which is specific for checking for bodyfat..
A lot of gyms will measure body fat for you. I don't want someone else grabbing my fat though (and you can't accurately use the calipers on some parts of your body doing it on yourself)
I prefer to make sure I'm working out regularly, and weigh consistently (1st thing after my am pee, panties only). As long as the average weight for a week is lower than the average weight for the previous week, it's a fairly safe assumption that I'm losing fat. If I'm not working out there's a big chance that there's more muscle loss than I had hoped for.
