Hi! I've only just started a week and a few days ago but I definitely see the scale go down every day. A few days before I started on CC, I weighed in at 150. Just a few days later (about 8 or 9 to be exact), I'm down to 144. That's a big drop for 9 days but I'm confident that I can lose at least 2 pounds per week from now on.
What's your rate?
BTW, my stats :
- 27 years old
- Medium build, hourglass shape but slightly more bottom heavy
- Goal: 135 pounds (so I have 9 pounds to go, I'd like to do it within 4 weeks)
- Activity level: 3 to 4 sessions of moderate exercice (cardio + weight training) a week
Thats is great! People often lose a bunch the first two weeks largely water weight. 6 lbs in 9 days is motivational but do not get sad if you slow way down to 1 lb or 0.5 lb a week. That is typical particularly when you are close to your goal weight.
2 lbs a week every week when you are within 10 lbs of your goal weight is not realistc for 99% of people. But keep up eating healthy and exercise and no matter if it takes 1 month or 6 months you will be better off.

I read another post this morning about cheat days. I think I will be using those to jump start my metabolism every few days.

Well 9 more pounds in ~3 months sounds pretty reasonable. But even if you don't make it to that "perfect" goal weight, I'm sure you will be close. And really, less than 5 pounds is not even noticeable to anyone except you.

I have the same goals, but am 42 and 5'6". I lose 1-2 lbs a week and have been gaining and losing the same 10 lbs for the last 5+ years. Hope you get it off and keep it off @mpetrin84.
Skip the cheat days. A cheat day for somebody who has just started will slow weight loss. A cheat day is also suggested for people who have been at it for a while, lost weight n hit a plateau on the argument that their body has adjusted to their routine n needs a push to get out of a rut.
We have similar stats/goals :)
- 27 years old (1984 girls rock ;D)
- 5'8" (or just shy of)
- Small/Medium Frame (was apple-now banana, going for hourglass again)
- Current weight: about 150lbs (but I have been plateauing due to monthly water weight)
- Goal: 135 pounds or 135-140 range but ideally 135-137
- Goal time frame: June - July 1st
- Activity light but daily
So far I am getting about -1lbs a week (some weeks 0; some -2lbs) or -5lbs a month.
I've dropped about 4lbs/wk for the past 3 weeks, but I have a very strange pattern of loss it seems. It ends up being on average about 2 lbs a week, but I plateau around my period, then it all drops off afterwards. Its very helpful to not pay too much attention to the slight deviations in the scale! :P
Please, don't do that! find the topic "Trust me - it's not worth it!" - the author has explained everything in a perfect way there. If you consume less calories than your BMR requires, your body is going to starvation mode. All you lose will come back!!! You might think: Well, I am not going to overeat after I lose weight. But it doesn't matter - your body will take all its weight back from normal eating, you will not have to overeat for that. So, before it's too late - please get on the healthy calorie intake!

Answering the question of the topic starter - I have lost 20 pounds for 3 months. The first month was the most successful, as usual. But now I lose 5 pounds a month, feeling great! The weight log graph looks like a cardiogram - it goes up and down, back and forth, but I watch the trend graph, which is steadily moving down - that is relaxing!

Hey there, we're also very similar. I'm 28, 142ish lbs, 5'7, and shooting for 135-136.
I can almost guarantee that you won't lose at a rate of 2 lbs per week this close to your goal weight, but everyone's different, so it might happen. The best idea (IMO) is to go at it slowly. And you have time, so that's awesome. So 9 lbs in 3 months means you need to lose 3/4 lb a week. Very doable. At first you'll keep losing at a higher rate than that, but it will very likely slow down. And that's okay, you can still reach your goal with no probs as long as you don't burn yourself out trying to lose it too quickly at the beginning. Good Luck!!

Hi! I have a 2nd fitting on April 7th and my third and last fitting on May 5th (so I have 5 weeks). But my dress is corset back and all-in-all, if I continue to lose up to 5 pounds after May 5th, I'll be ok.
