What's the 1st thing you will do for yourself when you hit your goal weight?
I want a cute short haircut. I have kept my hair long ever since I was told that my short hair made me look fatter. And yes, that was from a "close" friend.
Tummy tuck and breast reduction....then new clothes a tatoo and a pierceing :)
Um Im going to get new clothes but my main goal is, Im planning a cruise with my friends this summer, and well they are already slim so I don't want to be the fat friend
but I really want to look good for this cruise, first one and its well deserved! and go on a shopping spree for new clothes
or just borrow all my sis clothes!lol
I am with the rest of you...I am going shopping and getting my hair cut. I want to look cute again, not like I shop at the Tent and Awning store!![]()
Besides the short haircut, I also want to get a new tattoo. This time, it will be somewhere a little more daring.
Shoot, if all of us can reach our goal weight, the amount of shopping we will do should be enough to pull us out of a recession!
Thanks everyone for responding and keep them coming!
Daisy
Oh and maintain for life!
get the clothes that I wanted before. I also do a lot of acting in theatre, but my parts get somewhat limited because of my size... so I might do more theatre because that won't be an issue anymore.
Oh and notice all the guys checking me out ;-)
Split
My first-step goal for this summer: buy a new swimsuit
My first-step goal for this year: buy some new pants and work clothes
My long-term goal: breast reduction. I know that sounds silly but if I get the tiny waist I want to show off in a bikini, I want the perfect breasts to match. It's a personal thing, but that has always bothered me and I've been thinking about for a long time now.
I have a lot of weight to lose, so I'll probably want to get the extra skin, tummy tuck breast surgeries. After that, I really want a tattoo, I've actually had it drawn out for months. The thing is, the tattoo artist I want it from (Danny Bollman) is in Ireland. So looks like Stacy is headed back to the motherland (as my friends call it for me) a third time. Trust me, I'm not complaining. Maybe I'll meet a handsome lad and never have to come back to America!
Oh my, what won't I do? I have various intermediate goal/rewards for myself, actually.
When I can run 2 miles without stopping, I get a really good pair of running shoes. that I've been coveting.
When I get back down to the size I was when I got married (about 15lb lighter) I get a bunch of new exercise clothes.
When I drop 3 dress sizes, I get to buy the expensive yarn I want to make this sexy summer tank top.
When I can easily hike 10 miles, I get new camping gear.
When I have toned and defined abs, I get a belly ring.
When I've exercised 6 days a week for a month straight, I get to enroll in a class of my choice (ballet or yoga, probably)
For every week that I eat right at least 6 days out of 7, I get a new little toy for the kitchen (garlic press, ravioli crimper). For each month that I eat right, I get a new BIG toy for the kitchen (juicer, mortar and pestle, copper saucepan)
When I'm down to my goal weight AND healthy eating has become a habit AND I can run up to 20 miles I get a whole new wardrobe (well, new-used; I'm a serious thrift shopper!)
And yes, I do want to wear a short skirt and low-cut top to a club next summer. It will be therapeutic. I especially want to do so if there's a class party, which there often is - I started my program as the largest person in my class, and yes, I want the glowing comments, dammit (they've already been trickling in, which is nice).
Daisylove, get your haircut. Your friend was just being catty - short hair doesn't make people look heavier. Anything we can do to love ourselves and be good to ourselves during this process will only help us keep it up. Denying yourself and hating yourself is a dead-end street (or should I say, the path to weight cycling).
Live healthily, my friends, but also live for today. There's no reason why the journey can't be fun too.
Daisylove,
It's funny you should say that, because I'm told I look skinnier with short hair than when I had long hair. But my mom definitely looks thinner when her hair is longer. I guess it just varies person to person.
