Women: a question for you!
So, I'm trying to drop about 50-60lbs. I have a very large bust and I'm just curious how this might effect them. To be honest, I'd kind of miss the ladies if they were to disappear too much! Has anyone who has a larger chest (or knows someone) lost a lot of weight?
I went from busting out of a 40 DD (probably was a DDD or E) at 238 to a 36 C at around 150. I miss the girls!
Katy - how was the skin? did it go back?
I've lost 50 lbs, and really none have come from there. I was a 38D. I could still wear them if the band size was smaller. Now I need a 36DD :/
It just depends on the person, I guess.
I've lost 40 pounds and went from an E-cup to a C-to-D-depending-on-the-bra-style. While the girls are smaller than they used to be, they don't really look it because my waist shrank a lot more than they did. So, don't fear losing your bust; it's all about proportion.
And, yeah, I had to buy all new clothes including underwear/bras/socks(!) - but that was the fun part! :-)
Pinkbostonlove, if I looked as good as you at that weight, I wouldn't bother to lose. I'm one of these unfortunates who puts all the weight in the wrong places. I've lost quite a bit of weight so far and, sadly, gone down two cup sizes. But we are totally opposite body types (I have enormous legs) so my guess is you might (with a 50 lb weight loss) go down a cup size but no more..? I do currently have the saggy skin problem which doctors tell me will take a year or more for the body to readjust. It's weird to say, but I kind of miss my big ass, too. But not too much :P

It's really hard to know unless you know what your body type is when you're at your goal weight. Were you thinner before, and still had breasts? If so that would be a good indication that you won't lose TOO much there. I tend to gain much of my weight in my boobs, so I'm like a 36C around 145 pounds, but if I go lower than that I'm definitely a B-cup (like now @138, I'm a 34B, and I was a 34B at 115). Remember though, if you need to lose ~70 pounds, don't NOT lose it because of your breasts. There's a lot more to life than having big boobs, plus how stupid do tiny thin girls look with giant fake tatas?? It's all about proportion and if you look natural, you'll look amazing.
*cough, cough* I've had giant DD's that look fake since I was in 7th grade at a size 2. And at my smallest now I'm a size 4... does that I mean I look stupid? :(
She LOVES her boobs... that's why she asked the question. Us ladies who were blessed with the things so many women pay big bucks for appreciate them to the fullest. Brains, beauty, and big ta-ta's... it's a wicked combination.
Right, I miss the twins!~ :o(
I lost about 88lbs and went from a 36 DD to a 36 D to a 34C! Most of it was fat from the sides really... and my breasts do sag a bit now. Exercises targeting the pecs might help a bit but once those Cooper's ligaments give way, there's no getting that elasticity back!
Having said all that, I'm happy with a C cause my chest doesn't feel like it needs its own zip code anymore. :D
haha good to hear from all of you :)
Yeah I def love them, but I totally understand the needing its own zipcode thing! hahaha
I honestly don't mind if I become unproportionate and my boobs are huge and the rest of me isn't, I'd be okay with that; it's better than me being huge and them being huge too, then I'm just huge all over :-P
I'm on the opposite side from you girls, I've put on 20 pounds over a year, and most of its on my boobs! I've always been overly endowed, but now its to the point of having poor posture and back pain.
My point is even if you lose the girls a little, you'll have something to look forward to. Imagine being able to stand up straight with no effort!
i have lost about 50 lbs and went from a 42d to a 36c. my mom lost over a hundred lbs and went from fff to a b cup.
Unfortunately, I have lost most of my chest through weight loss. I was a 40C when I began losing weight. I've lost 41 lbs and now I wear size 34B. So long boobies! They were mostly fat anyway.
Haha! You have no idea how upset I was about my boobs.
When I started losing weight I was almost 270 pounds, in a 48DD. I'm now around 180 lbs, and I wear a 34 B.
HOWEVER: I exfoliate and moisturize a lot, I do a lot of weight training, and my breasts are really perky and firm now and I have no excess skin. When I dropped down to a C cup I was pretty upset, but the more I workout and the more I get muscle definition in my chest and arms, it feels really good to see a proportionate hourglass figure (not in a sports bra, haha, they disappear!) instead of giant floppy boobs.
well honestly don't take this wrong because you are beautiful in your picture. but if you lose 60lbs they usually will look bigger cause then you won't have weight in your stomach. At least that's my case. they actually look bigger even though i lost a size. But i wear tighter shirts and have better posture. so don't worry :)
Plus lose the weight you want if they go away buy a new pair like I am :)
A lot of it just depends on your natural body type. Even when I'm heavy, I have a natural hourglass shape. I've lost 30lbs and my 36DD's haven't budged, but my waist is shrinking and I'm a lot more toned. I think part of it is that they've been big since I woke up one morning with them in 5th grade. :)
I've recently put on weight for the first time and my nice pert 34Bs have ballooned into 36Ds and I HATE it. I'm used to being athletic and feel like a podgy version of Dolly Parton. And they are God-awful to run with. I sincerely hope they go back to normal when I get rid of these 30lb.
leslee -- thank you :)
backinthenines - yep they ARE a pain to run with...which is why I use an elliptical :)
Really what it all comes down to is this: Are you breasts mostly fat or tissue? You can't really know til' you've lost the weight. Which is why breast reduction is not recommended unless a patient has lost weight. Also, everyone loses weight in different areas. Everyone's body type is different. :) Plus, your breasts never stop growing. You could lose weight and then just go up sizes one day. XD
I am a 38DD and I really really really hope they shrink to a medium C cup! lol I love to run and ride my horse... the chest is no help in those areas they just get in my way! I have lost 17.5 pounds and an inch off the chest! I am doing exercises to help tone my pectoral muscles so hopefully that will pay off and help lift them.
When I start to lose weight, I lose it from my chest first. Which is really annoying. At my heaviest I was 140 and a 36B. I have only dropped about 5 pounds so far, but all my bras are now too big and I am barely filling out the cups. My goal weight is another 10 pounds away and I'm worried I won't have any breasts left.
I went from wearing 38D/DD at 170 pounds to wearing 36D at 143 pounds. I want to get down to 125-130....so hopefully I don't go below a C cup!
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
